James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home, Indianapolis

The Lockerbie neighborhood is one of the most quaint and brilliantly preserved and restored in Indianapolis. The Riley home is on a gorgeous brick street, tree-lined and surrounded by homes that have been well cared for. The tour is highly interesting and informative and provides information about Riley's personal life as well as his work as a writer and poet. A highlight of my visit was learning about the lovely late-Victorian architecture and decor of the home as well as the many original items within the home that have been preserved. The docents are quite knowledgable and very friendly.
