Fort Harrison State Park, Indianapolis

Along with our dog we went hiking on the new bike and hiking trail. It was well designed and maintained. I hope it stays that way. An overall very enjoyable experience.

My husband took my son and I to the horse barn for my birthday. I grew up with horses in Connecticut and really miss that part of my life. We went on the hour long ride. We had a blast. We even got to see some deer! We went back alot after that! Looking forward to going again this year! The whole park is fun!

I'd love to go back again! It was so fun! I live in Indiana and I love to go there all the time. I love the ponds and the trails. There is something for everyone. The trails have labeled difficulties: easy, medium, and hard! I would recommend this to anyone who has kids, pets, loves to be outside, or even ANYONE! You can do anything! I think it was worth the time, however the cost is a little pricey, although I usually have a season pass, so if you want to go all the time, that's worth the money. However, the money for the day I think is $4 on weekdays, and $5 on Friday and Saturday! The thing about the season pass is that if you buy it right now it would only go to December, it wouldn't go to May next year. I really don't like that! All right, that's my review, if you have the time and money I would definintly try it out! Especially if you're bored! -uNkNoWn

Unlike the person who visted the saddle barn on 1/2/05, I had an excellent time going horseback riding. The staff there was very courteous, friendly and seemed very knowlegable. The horses are great looking and well behaved. While on the trail the horses were very well trained, I felt like all I had to do was sit there and enjoy the view. VERY RELAXING! Can't wait to go back and relax again.

Referring to the review that was written on 1.2.2005: The consignors that were running the saddlebarn in 2004 did not treat their horses well and were excused from their contract at the end of that year. Since then, beginning in May 2005, a new contractor has been there. The horses are well behaved and taken care of.

I live five minutes from the park and try to go every day!!! It is so peaceful and amazing!! You can't believe you are in a big city. I go all year round!! the forest is wonderful all the time. Getting a pass for your family for $32.00 is a bargain. I see tons of wildlife, Fox, Blue Herron, Snakes, Vultures. I feel like it is my sanctuary.

The park is beautiful and the saddle barn is great.I took my 4 grandsons to ride the horses(ages 3 to 13) and they were thrilled. the horses were beautiful, well behaved and the staff was great. My 3 year old rode the pony and the older boys rode the horses. We are definately planning on going back. Sandra Dulaney
