take the kids

excellent house and museum....very well done tour. Take the kids and let them learn about a former president and how they lived in the late 1800's. Totally privately funded....so support this.

Perfect for families and history buffs!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/21/05
My husband and I decided to do a weekend getaway close to home. We explored a few of the museums, but the one that stands out as the most memorable is the home of President Benjamin Harrison. 80% of the furnishings are original to the family. We enjoyed seeing the letter of Helen Keller written to Mrs. Harrison, the third floor exhibit area, and Harrison's library. The tour lasted about 2 hours and for the money it was a great value. The neighborhood around the house is also worth a walk. I would definitely make this home part of a trip to Indianapolis!
