Ever since they added table games, the place has gone downhill. The dealers don't know how to pay the odds properly. The "Pit Bosses" and 'Supervisors" are for the most part, useless. Don't bother trying to get a drink from a cocktail waitress with any kind of regular interval - they are always understaffed on that end and slow slow slow.
I am one of the "VIP Players" there and have a total playthrough of well over a million dollars in 2011 alone. On my most recent trip I was insulted by both the Pit Boss as well as a cocktail waitress. I asked to speak with the casino manager whom I was told "Had just left" (Umm really? Just left on Friday Night during a holiday week?? Yeah, ok... so the place was running unmanaged.)
The bottom line is that this casino has no perception of what it really means to be a casino. They are there to take your money and that's it. There is no respect for anyone as a loyal patron or player. It took me a number of instances to realize this to its fullest, but I will not be returning. There are plenty of other close choices that are better and will respect your play, time and money.
So the bottom line is, use caution and hope you don't have any kind of issue with anything there because you won't get any resolution. It's a money making machine, and that's about it. And I don't even care if I win or lose... money doesn't mean that much to me. But I expect to be treated like a human being and a valued customer regardless.
My recommendation is to not go there. Spend your money elsewhere.
My wife and I used to go about once a month, and would either break even or come out alittle ahead. Well thats all changed now. They have really tightened up the machines. Its mostly nickles and pennies, which is deceiving because you actually bet more, and the payout is ZIP. I lost $100 with NO winners . My last time !! Save your money,go to a movie and get dinner.
I stopped by this place on a spur of the moment while on my way to AC. I'm glad that I saved myself extra 90 minutes of drive and gave this place a shot. I play table games, so I found it a pleasant surprise that they had $50 blackjack table in the high roller section that hand shuffled and no mid entry. Also, they bring you food and drink at the high roller section free of charge as long as you are a rated player and playing. It was great, and I'll be going back.
I had a dealer try to take my chips off the rail of a roulette table, the chips that I was not playing, also tried to take my winning chip with out paying off, after I and the rest of the table caused a commotion she returned my chips and paid for hitting the six, She was then ready to pay off on 4-5 and three, I question if Delaware Park hires their dealers right out of school and does not give them any further training before putting them on a table. I even requested a pit boss or manager and was informed that everyone can make a mistake, but to take none played chips from the rail, unheard of! no pit boss or manager approached the table, I cashed out very upset, went home and called and was informed that they would look into it and reply back to me shortly. I have waited for what they said would be 15 minutes, yet it has been over 1 hour now and no reply. I will be returning to Delaware Park daily but not to play, to watch out for other players so they do not get ripped off
The place has really gone down, during my visit I Played $300.00 in a Hot Hot Penny at $1.50 a spend and only hit the bonus 2 times paying me a whopping $10.00 each time. The machines are very tight, Delaware Park will just take your money. No one was winning anything, people very upset with the place. I will not be going back there, or Hollywood Casino in Perryville They both are stealing from people.
My husband and another couple arrived at Delaware Park at 10:30 and left at 7:00pm on the way out I stopped and ask for parking tickets, the women told me I can't get any till May. Now we have been going to Delaware Park for about 15 years did more loosing than winning we all dropped a good bit of money, and they can't give us parking tickets. Also a lot of the machines were gone getting ready for the table games and if you needed a bill changer everyone of them was down... That place has changed so much it's not even fun anymore... We going to Hollywook in Pa.
This place has changed so much in the last few months and not for the good they have taken most of the higher slots out and filled the place with penny machines that if you super super lucky you can win $100.00 after you lose maybe $400, the attendants are not around anymore and I didn't like the Harrahs up near chester but you know it just isn't worth the drive to Delaware anymore, so now we and friends are going to Harrahs
How this place stays open i'll never know. best part is the live horse racing....as for a casino...uhhhh? Its not. IF your pondering whether to go to Deleware Park or Atlantic City....do yourself a favor and choose AC. AC has casinos, Deleware Park is a donation of your money. They advertise nice on TV...and thats about all that is nice. If AC is simply to far, I guess its not out of the question to have somewhat of a good time here.
