Delaware Park, the great hidden track on the East Coast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/07
Delaware Park is a pristine find; not Florida not New York, but exciting racing nevertheless. The horses and jockeys based there often show up in major races in other venues. Attendance is never over crowded, well except during the Run for the Roses, but solidly attended by horse racing fans the rest of the season.
The staff is very friendly... you'd think they enjoy the sport as much as you do. Parking and admission are free... well I should stop before too many outlanders from any direction of the compass start to show up too much and all that good stuff changes.
Delaware Park has worked on providing the up to date services and "technology" that all racing venues now seek to provide, yet it still feels like an old fashioned race track. Something about our agrarian heritage; they have not lost it.
