Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Santa Barbara

We were worried that this might not be a good trip for the kids, but we were wrong! The kids, ages 5, 7, and 8 loved climbing on the rocks, over the river, through the woods, and across the bridge. As a teacher, I loved the numerous areas for educational learning through the basket weaving, or the explaination of the Santa Barbara Mission water system. It was a great trek through the woods and we enjoyed seeing lots of lizards!

I liked how its full of nature and I'm a sucker for a wood bridge. However it was missing more guidelines and maps along the way because we almost got lost.

This is a nice attempt to have a real botanic garden, but there are far better ones in California, especially the Arboretum in Arcadia. There is an adequate selection of native plants, and a store for souvenirs, but the retail nursery is unattractive and not well organized.

A beaautiful, peaceful place to visit. The "Toad House" which is a maze like house to walk through made out of willows is incredible! It's not far from the Mission so it is a good place to go before or after your tour there.

Just a fabulous beautiful spot. A great view of the mountains, next time I go to Santa Barbara will visit again.
