Coastal Helicopters, Juneau

very professional people, lisa was very good at keeping us informed when we had weather related problems. the trip was amazing onto the herbert glacier. we would use this company again and would recommend to family and friends. great value and great memories.

The entire operation was handled in a most professional manner. We were greeted promptly at the ship. After preparation, we flew over the ice field and surrounding area before landing on the glacier. The dog sled ride far surpassed our expectations (and I was expecting alot.) The ride lasted almost an hour and covered several miles. The musher on my sled had run in the Idiarod and had lots of interesting stories and information. Our entire group of ten all agreed it was the highlight of the trip.

The scenery was awe-inspiring...even sent you some 8x10's...not sure you got them as you didn't respond..."Chad" the pilot is a "gas"...his aerobatics were "just like in the movies" and made the trip a lot more fun....especially the "high speed elevator" descent at the end of the trip. I weigh 267 pounds - not unusual for a 6' 3" grown man in this day and age, and when your airport clerk tapped me on the shoulder to ask for a 50% increase in fare, I was mortified. My wife, who travelled with me weighs 155 pounds which means our combined weight of 422 pounds divided by two - or 211 pounds - would not have attracted a surcharge if two individuals at 211 pounds each were flying! Not fair...but, they're your helicopters, you posted a warning sign, and I guess I had a choice didn't I?

We were initially skeptical about helicopter ride as it's bit pricey but the Coastal Helicopter pilot and their staff were very friendly and everything was very safe and comfortable. In our entire Alaska cruise of 7 days, this was the only part worth every minute! I'd recommend this to anyone going to Juneau for travel. P.S. Sunnyvale, CA
