Wildlife and Glaciers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/06
This is a review of the cruise tour from Glacier Bay Lodge through Glacier Bay to Grand Pacific Glacier. We took the plane to Gustavus and stayed at Glacier Bay Lodge in the National Park. The lodge had much nicer rooms than Yosemite Lodge. Food was excellent, especially the sweet potato fries. We were there the end of the season, so they were out of white wine. The evening kayak paddle was two hours around the bay near the lodge. Excellent guide and lots of wildlife. The glacier Bay cruise was one of the best National Park experiences we have had. Breakfast and lunch were included. Food was average. The crew and on board ranger were excellent. They answered every question. Finding wildlife was what they do best. We saw black bears, grizzly bear and cubs, humpback whales, eagles, otter and wolves. Getting really close to a glacier and hearing the popping and watching it calve was amazing. Well worth the time and money.

outstanding trip and people!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/26/05
This was my very first cruise experience. the people made me feel like I was great at everything and never let me feel like a novice. the food was exceptional, the people, both passengers and crew, were great, and the excursions a once in a lifetime experience. Prince William Sound is truly a wonderful vacation place.

Stunning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/04
They say it rained all the previous month but when we were there at the beginning of July the weather was perfect and the day cruises were beautiful. Took the ferry to Glacier Bay Lodge for a couple of nights, then cruises on the bay in their comforably small cruiser. The crew were great, the food and other amenities just fine. Understand that this isn't one of those big feast ships, but it will hold about a hundred folks with several levels so you can move around a lot, and has a main cabin where you can get in out of the weather should the need arise (they say our week of pure sunshine was unusual). Opt for the ferry back instead of the plane out of Gustavus if the weather holds. Won't try to describe the sights, wish I could share the photos of wildlife and scenery.
