Anyone going to Denali should - if their time permits also see the campus museum, and do this excursion in Fairbanks. You will never forget it! will e. in Montana:

Good half day trip
By SteveW, 06/20/08
I had half a day while in Fairbanks and this tour was recommended when booking travel and hotel through the railroad. Riverboat was very nice with plenty of outside and inside viewing space. Tour was a great sampling of all things Alaskan from bush pilots, dog sleds to native Heritage exihibits. Great way to spend half a day in Fairbanks.

Fish On!?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/07
First let me state, that I have been living in Alaska for 4 years and never thought there was anything like this in Alaska. Great for all ages. My wife and I enjoyed this riverboat tour. The entire trip took about 3.5 hours. You start by watching an awesome take off and landing of a sea plane. Then you see homes that were built many years ago and get a chance to admire newer homes. The native village was awsome, very informative. Overall I would recommend this to everyone who visits Fairbanks.

We can'n wait to go when the kids are older.

I want more for the kids not just us. My kids were just angry the whole time. I did not like your river boat discovery because it was such a big group.

Pleasant Surprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/06
It was more then we could have expected, this was all part of a package deal for us. We were entertained from the time we went aboard until we left the boat. Every aspect of this cruise was very enjoyable, beautiful scenery, great narriation, smooth ride, enjoyed the musher exhibit, Indian village, enjoyed the salmon and crackers, the boat was clean as possible, enjoyed the air show, great deals within the shop to purchase. Yes, we would do this again. V/R Glen & Judi Musick

Had a great time.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/06
As a teacher, I like the information I can take back to my classroom. I was able to take lots of great pictures on a variety of subjects. The pace was comfortable and relaxing. I liked that whatever I missed when sailing in one direction, could be seen on the way back. The indoor and outdoor seating helped to make everyone comfortable. The television monitors helped everyone stay well informed.

Nature at it's finest
By suzannem, 02/09/06
Definitely the highlight of our trip to Fairbanks, you can see the pristine conditions that most can only dream of. Had the pleasure of Susan Butcher (Iditerod) come to the shore and show us some of her dogs. Surprised to see that they are hybreds, and not Malumutes like we expected. They were in Summer coat of course, but very lean indead. The riverboat ride is fantastic.

Riverboat Discovery
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/05
From the time we boarded the Paddle boat, Discovery III to the time we got off, the action never stopped. Not only was the ride smooth and visually interactive, the narration onboard was first rate. The boat tour encompasses many aspects of Fairbanks both historic and of the current residents. The best Four hours you will spend in Fairbanks. You will see a live sea plane landing beside the boat, 4 time winner of the Iditarod Susan Butcher, Native culture, and many facts about Fairbanks. The crew was commited to making the trip informative as well as enjoyable, right down to complimentary coffee and doughnuts.
