Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee

I have been visiting the Milwaukee Public Museum for over 25 years since I was a kid. My favorite things to see there are The Streets Of Old Milwaukee, The European Villege on the 1st floor, The Indian exhibits on the 2nd floor, & The dinosaurs exhibit. I like going there on Monday's since it's free for Milwaukee County Residents to get in with their ID. I liked the special exhibit of Samson The Gorilla & the special exhibit of The Titanic. I wish that they would bring both of them back. The pricing is a little expensive thought for special exhibits. I think that they should be half price for Milwaukee County Residents. The museum charges so much because they are in financial trouble due to the old director embezzeling money as listed in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I also like The Easter Island exhibit on the 3rd floor. There is a statue of Dumb Dumb from the movie A Night At The Museum. They have many interesting things to learn on cultures such as Polish, Jewish, German, Russian, French, Indian, Native American, African, Irish, and many more. It also talks about the early Milwaukee settlers. It is one of the places that everybody should visit in Milwaukee. Parking is very expensive though. I wish that The Milwaukee Public Museum would do a special exhibit on The Holocaust or World War 2. I think that, that would be something for everybody to learn more on.

We went to see the Titanic. We took our grandchildren along with our youngest daughter. It was WONDERFUL. We all enjoyed it alot. We went to Old Milwaukee Street that was wonderful. It is so interesting and to have a little store in Old Milwaukee Street. One of our grandchildren was very excited to see the animals. We just became members and that is just the beginning of a wonderful gift.

My family and I are members Science Museum of Minnesota and we wanted to check out the Milwaukee Public Museum. I called for information and found out that the Titanic exhibit was their which I thought would be interesting to see. Normally being a member you get your entrance free but you must pay an additional fee for special exhibits or shows. That's not the way it works in Milwaukee. Out of town people must pay a full entrance fee plus any special exhibit fees. Normally nice museums that I have visited have always backed out the entrance fee and you would pay just the special exhibit fee. So take the Milwaukee Public Museum off your list of places to stop if your museum membership is from out of town.

I have been coming to the museun since before I can remember - always have such a great time! See dinosaurs, a rainforest, a mummy, the street of old milwaukee, and more! Now I get to share it with my children!

I hadn't been here since I was a kid, but it's even more impressive than I remember. The dioramas are like works of art - so well done in every detail. Lots of wonderful artifacts from all over the world, too. A great place to lose yourself on a quiet afternoon (it's pretty big), but fun to take the kids to explore too. They also added a great new planetarium that shares space with the IMAX theater. Fantastic graphics and a nice informative intro to the current night sky as well. All in all, a great classic museum experience with enough thought-provoking elements to keep it topical.

I loved the streets of Milwaukee. I like the old time feel and then when you are out and about in Milwaukee there are still some of the cobblestone roads! Best feature.

This place is the bomb!!!! I LOVE IT I ALWAYS ASK IF WE CAN GO THERE!!!! WHEN EVER WE GO I WALK AROUND THE PLACE A COUPLE TIMES BECAUSE IT IS SO EXCITING!!!! GREAT JOB AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Recently a few friends and I visited the Milwaukee Public Museum. I hadn't been there since I was a child so going back brought a flood of memories. I remembered as a child how much I loved it there and nothing has changed except for improvements that can spark the interest of young minds and old alike. The museum has much to offer including an IMAX theater and great exhibits that grab the attention of patrons and keep them coming back for more. The time spend there was well worth the cost. I would highly suggest taking friends or family to the MPM any time of the year. My most fond memory is visiting the candy shop in the historic settlement section. Make sure to stop in when you pay a visit.
