Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion (The), Milwaukee

More than a century old, the mansion still stands as a testament to the labor and toil of all the workers who built it. Opened to the public in 1978, the place is being restored to match it's original splendor. One of the finest residences in the city, no cost or innovation would be spared in its design. The whole mansion was wired for electricity and plumbed for nine full bathrooms when it was built in 1892. It was installed with a state-of-the-art heating system by the company now known as Johnson Controls which could regulate the heat in the mansion with 16 thermostats and custom-built furniture for the majority of its rooms. Now a major tourist attraction,the mansion can also be rented for weddings, business conferences and other events.
