White water
By JohnS, 07/20/09
I was very impressed with the white water, the rafts were the best on the river.. wouldn't go any where else but river forest rafting!

Some things never change
By Anthony, 04/27/09
Went there 25 years ago and of what people have said, nothing has changed.

Very little enforcement of...anything.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/08
If you don't want to sleep for a night, go here. Loud music played until 5am and people set off fireworks at 6am. Impossible to be enjoyed unless you are the type that likes heavy metal played at all hours and your main goal in life is to get wasted and scream.

BEWARE
By SHERRY, 07/07/08
Shotgun Eddy's is a very poorly maintained and incredibly unsafe operation. Any raft that has no handles, or safety buoys to secure your feet going over the rapids leads to unsafe ejection into the rock-filled rapids. I witnessed many injuried some requiring hospital visits. No one at Shotgun Eddy's seemed to care. I highly recomment Herb's or Ralph's where the rafts are new and fully maintained. I wish I knew ahead of time. This was not my first time rafting, but I will NOT return the Shotgun Eddy's.

This is a pretty low-budget operation. Old rafts, and old PFDs. Very little attention to safety. The grounds have no flush toilets, and no showers. For our trip the shuttle was very late in picking us up. Oh, and they only take cash.

the fun of spinning, and falling off.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/08
I liked the rapids and the biggest fall. Visit it in June the water is usualy higher and faster. And don't try to spin try to go straight than spinning.

Great Rafting. Nice People
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/07
Rafting was great and the people operating the campground were very friendly. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were disgusting and there were no showers. I would go there again, but this time I'd be better prepared with several jugs of water for washing up!

Depends on you
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/07
Shotgun Eddy was definately the place to be if you were a college student. Lots of sex, drugs, and rock and roll were present. I for one like the more layed back trip without drugs and alcohol. Some mellow music would have been nice. The rules of music off by 10:00 pm was not enforced and loud people constantly annoying us. Some how we pulled it off and was able to enjoy the trip.
