Shotgun Eddy Rafts, Green Bay

we went up on a thursday night and were right out on the river first thing in the morning friday. the trip was wonderful with beautiful views or the menominee reservation along the wolf river. we found it very safe as opposed to the review below and the staff was very helpful for how busy they were. thanks SGE can't wait to come back

The day we rafted we found out later in the ER that all the other rafting places were shut down by the police due to very very high water and dangerous conditions. All five of had near death experiences. We all flipped out of our rafts and sustained very very serious injuries. We all had to go to the ER and be treated. The staff could of cared less if we had lost our lives. They were RUDE and Un-Concerned. They did not even come to the rescue of 3 of us. We sat on a rock for over an hour screaming for help. Finally a family taking a walk heard us and went to a different rafting company and two young men saved our lives. It is a horrific place to go and I just have to pray no one loses their lives renting a raft from them. DO NOT GO !!!!!!!!!!!Very un-safe !!!!!

And we had a time of our life,we still talk about it today 2011 and we want to go again soon.We went many years ago maybe in 1980 ???

We just got back from SGE this weekend (May 6th-8th 2011) and have never seen water this good up there. It was an AMAZING ride! Not once did we have to get out and push like we normally have to. What normally is a 5-6 hr. ride, we fishined in 3 1/2 hrs. Water is cold, but comfortable with wetsuits. Go soon if you are looking for fast water! I'm happy to say we are the first rafters at Shotgun Eddys of the year!

We have been going to shotgun eddys almost every year for the past 10 years. If you go on a week day, you might be the only people there (which can be nice). On weekends it gets busy so be there nice and early. On weekends, pretty much everyone goes there to drink, so be prepared to handle that. The website says no alcohol or cans allowed on Wisconsin waterways but that is not enforced at all. I've seen people with open beers in their hands get into the shuttle vans right in front of the operators and they say nothing. The scenery is great, and the rapids are very good in May but it becomes shallow and almost impossible to paddle in the middle of summer so be prepared to walk alot.

We got there at about 10:20am on a Saturday. Waited for about 20 minutes to pay, then the bus came almost immediately afterwards to take us to the launch spot. We were in the water by 10:50 and it was a blast! Yes, some of the rafts are not the best, but it really doesn't matter. Anyone who gets ejected from the raft is probably being stupid and not sitting on the bottom of the raft properly. It was crowded on the river, but it wasn't just Shotgun, it was Ralph's and Herb's as well. The rapids were cool and everyone had a great time. At the end of the trip, the rafts were loaded up promptly and the bus was waiting for us to go back to our cars. If Shotgun was ever disorganized, it's not anymore. I can't wait to go back!

This place is awesome. If you are a college student looking for a great weekend this is the place. Took the full rafting trip, and had a blast - however, I do regret not springing for the helmet; almost died on the last falls, but even still, incredibly fun. Everybody there was very friendly, from the random people from all over just looking to have a good time with you, to the carefree operators. You will not be disappointed in the campwide party atmosphere.

My boyfriend & I love shotgun eddy. The views are incredible, and the rafting is a blast. It's a little rough around the edges, bathrooms are gross, but you'll manage, unless you're not an outdoors kind of person. We're 22 and 23, so we love the loud music, beer, and party atmosphere. We're headed up in a few days with a group of our friends & we can't wait. Def. recommend it :)!

I was very impressed with the white water, the rafts were the best on the river.. wouldn't go any where else but river forest rafting!

Went there 25 years ago and of what people have said, nothing has changed.
