Don't waste your money!
By ,
They need more exhibits. SInce it is under contruction, the price should be discounted. You have to walk around for about 3-5 minutes before you see an open exhibit. We probably saw 7-10 things. It was boring & the kids were bored too. The nature walk is too far, they should have a sky tram or some other way to get over their besided driving you car or walking. If you must go, just pay the 7 bucks for the 3D movie.

Can't believe I wasted the money
By ,
I know they are renovating, but the displays were definately not worth the $14 per person. I've been to 5 Aquariums including D.C., Baltimore, Seattle, and Honolulu. I don't mind paying for quality, but I was greatly disappointed with the Aquarium. Honestly thought it was a rip off.

decent trip
having read all the reviews on yahoo, i was a bit skeptical of paying $30 for my family to visit the aquarium, but it was raining today and there weren't many alternatives, i was aware of the construction from the reviews but there was still a lot of it. basically there were 4 things worth doing there, seeing the sharks, petting the rays, seeing the sea turtles and going home afterward. don't waste your time walking the mile trail to the otter house. maybe this would comletely change my opinion when the construction is finished but it would have to be awesome to do that.

PLEASE DON'T WASTE UR MONEY TILL 2009
By ,
I was so excited to go for my husbands B-Day and when I got there I was like WHAT IN THE WORLD. They have limited exibits and with construction it is not that great. The nature walk was long and boring. The next building had very little things to look at also. I would just wait until 2009 and visit if I was anyone. Not even worth the coins...

Loved it!

This place is where I grew up. I love all the education and awarness of the ocean that the freindly guides told us. So worth the money. Even though I am local I still would go there any day. Great gift shop!

Monumental waste of time AND money
By ,
We recently visited the VA Aquarium during a stay @ VA Beach and was thoroughly dissapointed. Upon arriving, the entrance is very very deceiving, they make you believe you are in for a treat, don't belive the hype. Very few exhibits and the "nature" walk/trail, huge dissapointment. Basically, they cut out a bike path to the nature building, once you arrive, yet another dissapointment. Save your money and time!

2009 will be a better year
By ,
Construction, noise and closure or removed displays made me feel like I didn't get my moneys worth. Baltimore National Aquarium is better. The nature trail and the second building with the otters and the sea horses was very nice. It was a nice 4 hours.

A Must See While at Virginia Beach
By ,
Everyone that goes to Virginia Beach should also visit the museum. Not only do you have the opportunity to see all kinds of "ocean critters" there are also many "hands on" exhibits, etc. for family and children. There is also a boardwalk to view birds in an outside area around the museum. I NEVER get tired of going there. Educational and FUN!

Not so great....
By ,
I try to go to every aquarium when visiting out of state. This is by far the worst one I have ever been to. It is under construction but I don't even think that is going to help. There's the main aquarium then you go outside and walk about 2 miles down a nature path to another building. It's way to far. There's no shuttle or golf cart to take you over. It was really cold out so that even made the trek more misrable. I just thought it was to overpriced for having to walk so far to see things. There really wasn't to much to see in that other building. It was a waste of time. Find something else to do while visiting the Virginia Beach area.
