The 65 foot Gypsy holds up to 89 passengers and offers dolphin watches, sightseeing cruises, and nature cruises, while the 60 foot Drifter holds up to 50 passengers and offers five hour offshore and inshore fishing excursions. There is also the 32 foot Boomerang fishing boat available that offers private offshore and inshore custom fishing charters for up to eight hours.
Took the gypsey out for a morning run and it was a great activity for young and old, kids learned how to throw a shrimp net, seen dolphins, pulled up a crab basket and fished for shark, crew was fabulous, will plan on doing again this summer. Later we took the drifter shark fishing and it was just as entertaining as the gypsey......Kids and all just loved it!
I took my 11 year old niece and my 5 year old daughter on the 2 hour kids nature cruise on the Gypsy. All the children helped pull a crab trap up out of the water which contained a stone crab and some hermit crabs. Then our tour guide(wish I could remember her name because she is wonderful with the children) passed around the hermit crabs for the children to get a hands on experience. Then we continued our boat ride through the marina past harbor town towards daufuskie island. Along the way we saw numerous dolphins and of course jellyfish! When we got near the shore the engine cut off and the fishing rods were passed out to the children and each got a piece of squid put on their hooks for bait. I never realized just how many sharks are out in the water until you go fishing for them. The children mostly caught little sharks, but one child caught 3 or 4 ft shark. My niece caught a baby shark which she named Snapper, got a great picture to take home to her mother! After about 45 minutes we packed up everything and headed back, but before it was over the kids got to take turns throwing a net and picked up some sea snells. Overall it was a fun and educational trip for everyone. The only con I have is that the trip was a little pricey, but when you think about it everything is down here.
