Service is outright poor, waited over 10 minutes for any type of service. The owner needs to do some reading on the state of Ohio drinking law, being a college town he should be up to speed to know that Ohio law provides that when you are with your legal parent and when they consent you are legally allowed to have beer! The owner is his rude way, must think that he is running a 5 star establishment, wake up, only a 2 star at best; he big statement that the Columbus police will arrest me and my daughter and that the police have told him numerous times no provision for underage consumption is outright BS--being a highly educated town the owner should do some free reading on the internet. Bottom line the food is ok, the noise level is a 10+, you will sit right on top of other people, service is poor, food is average and the owner is rude-----Columbus has so many other great places---take your business to another fine establishment!
Had an awful experience at this restaurant. My wife and I went for our anniversary and ordered their top menu item. When the server brought our food out, he placed both of our plates in front of us and then presented my wife with a choice. Because the kitchen had cut a 7oz vs a 4 oz filet, they withheld (hostage?) the seafood portion of the meal. Her choice was to accept the 7oz filet or allow the server to take the ENTIRE plate back off the table, back to the kitchen so they could cut off 3oz of the filet, at which time, they would bring out the seafood. Absolutely ridiculous. We asked the bar tender walking through the dining area if we could take dessert in the bar, without breaking stride, he looked over, snorted and said "I don't care". I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.
Love this place! The building and bar are wonderful relics to behold, and the food and service are always commendable. The beer is tastefully crafted, the brewmasters are gifted. We always include a trip here when staying in Columbus.
We had never been before. Came in on a Thursday. The historic building itself was amazingly beautiful and clean. The service staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. For a microbrewery they had many different styles of beer to choose from. I had one of the monthly selections a barrel aged porter, then a dark horse lager, both- Fantastic!
My wife, not a beer fan, had several specialty cocktails that she enjoyed.
Many options on the menu. Dinner was great. Started with the calamari which was awesome. Then we had the beef tenderloin medallions and the brulee tuna, both perfectly cooked.
The pricing is very fair when compared to some of the other restaurants downtown we have tried, especially with the quality of dining that we received. We will definitely go back and I would recommend this place to anyone.
Pulled pork sandwich is great. The fish sandwich should be renamed "Chipotle-tomato-onion sandwich" since the fish was not the largest portion. In reality, the fish probably accounted for 40% of the sandich in relation to the bun.
The calimari is excellent, the bread is good, but the fish must have come from the Scioto.
