Paramount's Kings Island, Kings Mills

While my friend was waiting for her two daughters to ride, she was threatened by a lady who told her that if she did not go to the ATM to get money, she (the lady) would follow my friend around the park. When my friend tried to walk away, the lady blacked her eye. The the lady's partner and three kids that were with them kicked my friend. My friend's girls heard the employees who ran the ride talking about a fight. They were shocked when they looked and saw their mother running. Of course they ran to their mom, who had gone to a concession stand. At the concession stand she had to ask the employees to call security. It took 15 minutes for security to arrive. All the employees said that they had seen nothing and security said that to view what the cameras had filmed, they would have to go to the other end of the park, which they were not willing to do. I understand that KI cannot control the riff-raff that attends, but I am sickened by the lack of action security. Not one employee came to this woman's aid, nor called security on their own. Typicallly, when we go to KI, I allow my preteens to go off on their own. Of course I know anything can happen anywhere, but I would expect KI would have a plan for helping people who are attacked and/or breaking up fights. I will not be visiting KI for sometime, maybe never, because I don't want to worry that if one of my kids is attacked nothing will be done.

The park policy is usually set in stone for a reason. Just because the people in your immediate vicinity did not care whether or not your children line jumped; doesn't mean that the hundred or more other people in line didn't care. The Diamondback line holds several hundred people. The people that got in line after you probably didn't necessarily understand that they were using the restroom. In their eyes, they see two people line jumping in front of their current spot in line which increases their wait time for the ride. Whenever you purchase a ticket or pass to any amusement park or attraction if you read the fine print you are agreeing to abide by the park policies and procedures along with obeying the employees. Moral of the story, if you follow the policies, rules, and regulations any where you go, you are more likely to not run into trouble and have a great time.

Line jumping is Line jumping. Kings Island actually makes it pretty clear and easy to understand....well, obviously not in your case. I was actually in line a little behind you and was disgusted by your actions. I'm not telling you how to raise your kids- but I don't think that was the best example to be setting. (arguing with a Security Officer). Follow the rules and you wont have a problem at KI, in fact it is very enjoyable....until you happen to run into clowns like you.

My boys and I were waiting in line for the Diamond Back. We had already been waiting in line for nearly 30 minutes. My children needed to go to the restroom. I told them to go and I would wait in line for them. They came back to get into line with me. No one behind us seemed to have a problem with a couple children needing to go potty. Tyler, the ride attendant happened to notice the boys were "line jumping." He proceeded to make it his business to tell my children to get out of line and go to the back of the line. I explained to Tyler that we were already in line, and that they simply needed to go to the restroom. He basically said he did not give a crap and that it was park policy that once you got out of line, you could not get back in line. So, there is no exception for children who have to go to the restroom, when they were already in line and their father had been waiting for them, and actually, no one makes a complaint, and the father explains to the ride attendant that they needed to go to the restroom and why there was "line jumping," and there were people around us essentially agreeing with me against what the ride attendant was trying to maintain. Basically, those who have children at King's Island, will pay a penalty of injustice if the children need to use the restroom at the time a parent and those children are waiting in line and the children need to pee. There is nothing I could have done to not receive an injustice from Tyler the ride attendant or N. Kirby and his Gestapo security crew. A couple things we could have done, perhaps, to keep the children from getting out of line, for which people behind us or around us in line would have liked much less than Tyler's interpretation of "line jumping," would have been to allow my children to pee in a container of some sort, or they could have simply peed in their swim trunks so that other people around us could smell it and be disgusted in a high temperature. I think that is what we will do the next time my children need to pee or poop. I will just tell them to go to the restroom in their pants so that other people around us can smell it and maybe some of the feces or urine will get on the seat of the ride, and then security and the ride attendants can deal with those complaints. So, a security guy got involved, and then his supervisor, N. Kirby got involved, and then, as we were heading to Guest Relations, N, Kirby gets some Sheriff's Deputy with a badge and a gun involved. Not only did this all this happen, buy my children had been spoken to, rudely by other ride attendants before this incident. I think what you have at King's Island is a bunch of young people who have absolutely no common sense when it comes to making a judgement call. If I would have been the ride attendant, and would have been talking to a couple boys about line jumping, and their father explained that they were already in line with me, and simply needed to go to the restroom, the situation would have been over. I would have said "no problem, enjoy the ride." As, I am sure many people with common sense in making a judgement call in a situation like that would have made the correct choice.

my 5 year old did not know who snoopy was or any of the characters . she loves sponge bob and bikkini bottom and all the other characters please buy back or i wont be back .she loves dora scooby doo none of those were there. she had not a clue who these characters were.

I had a great summer at KingsIsland seen snoopy rocks waited a 3 hours to get on DiamonBack and FireHawk. I was disapointed i spent my life saveings on a seasonPass. To expinsive. over $1oo.How gay is that and not at DisneyWorld. And i spent $8 on a CheeseBurger at JuteBox. So stupid. I rather go to BurgerKing to eat then KingsIsland. I have a dream we can bringback Paramount and make the park cheaper then everbefore. $30 in May to get a pass until july then changes to 40. Burgers could cost $1 and we can encrease more guest and end Ki's Bankruptcy forever.Trams could take u into the gates. And this would bring back Nicklodeion Universe and TombRaider would exist agein. So if u love what i sayed vote for me. If not well oh well.

My spouse and I are fanatic coaster bugs. We choose parks by the coasters that are there. Thank you Yahoo for providing the ability to review this park. You MUST have a plan or you will NOT be able to cover your "must rides". The park map sucks; it is confusing and inaccurate. The park is set up to make you walk FOREVER to find your destination. You can see the rides you want to visit but you can't get there. The Beast, which was worth the trip from Albany, NY on it's own, had an enterance that was hidden in the kiddie park and you had to enter through a vending area. It took a very long time to find the entrance. This simply must be designed to be difficult. A water ride just inside the gate is on the map but the location has a gift shop. The water park is advertised as being included but is all but impossible to reach from inside the theme park. Consider Cedar Point as a more visitor friendly day without any sacrifice on quality of rides.

I grew up going to Kings Island almost once a year, and have fond family memories of it. But once becoming an adult, I didn't go at all for over 19 years, until the other day. What a joke it has become. Does it have great rides? Well yes, but at what cost? I don't know how anyone could really enjoy this place for less than $100 per person. They even charge $10 just to park your car and walk a mile to the gate! If you want a locker for your things (almost necessary if going to the water park) then you'll be paying about $13 for it, but oh yeah, you get $5 of that back as a deposit, so it's only $8, what a bargain (extreme sarcasm). One soda cost considerably more than an entire case of sodas at walmart. The food is ridiculously expensive for crappy quality. And it takes an hour just to get on any ride! So in my case, by the time the day was over, I had spent almost a week's paycheck to take my family of five to a park where they only got to ride a small handful of the feature rides (one time each). Pathetic. I read somewhere about a VIP pass where people could go to the front of the lines, this makes me even more angry that the people with the money get special treatment! Where did King's Island go so wrong? For the money I would much rather go to a cleaner and more family friendly park such as Holiday World, their water park is ten times better, there is no fee for parking or lockers, and all drinks are free! Kings Island should learn from their example.
