The heart of this museum lies in an exploration of the people who have changed and shaped the social landscape of the South since the end of the Civil War. The exhibit addresses controversial issues like race relations and immigration, providing a forum for discussion and contemplation. The facility is newly renovated and many of the pieces contain modern multimedia displays and virtual tours that make the learning experience fun for all ages. Be sure to explore the 'Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers' exhibit, one of the permanent collections that focuses on the changing face of Charlotte and the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Adults: $6; Seniors & Students: $5; Children: $5

Levine Museum/Queen City Tours and Travel

The Levine Museum of the New South is a fun and educational way to spend half a day checking out the interactive exhibit Cotton Fields to Scrapers which details the history of Charlotte from 1865 until today. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I learned about the museum on Charlotte's Longest-Running Daily City Tour by Queen City Tours and Travel.

It made us feel so... involved with everything! It was great! Everyone I went with was completely entertained and enjoyed the whole two hours we were there! We can't wait to go back!
