Authentic Northern Italian cuisine is the specialty of this romantic restaurant that has an ambiance of fresh flowers, candlelight, and a strolling guitarist. Some of the specialties on the menu are veal chops, cioppino, rack of lamb, fresh seafood, and homemade pastas. They are open nightly for dinner and late night dining plus serve lunch Monday through Friday.
After reading several of the reviews I was a little nervous going to this restaurant. It was my wifes birthday and we got treated nothing short of like royalty. The food was wonderful, from the bread down to the sorbet and champagne. i had the lobster ravioli. It was to die for. My wife , who does not like sundried tomatoes, had the pasta purses with sundried tomatoe cream sauce. She loved it. For her birthday they gave her a full size tiramisu. It was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone.
My company pre-paid this place for a private dining experience in a PRIVATE room in the back with plenty of space to mingle and give gifts and end of year speaches. I went a month before the event date to see the room we would have, and after being shown this room, I handed over thousands of dollars as a deposit and to pay for most of the bill ahead of time.
When we arrived for dinner (the night of), we were seated at a long narrow table, (not enough seats were provided for our guests) and we were NOT IN A ROOM but in between a wall and a black sheet seperating us from the rest of the place. There was no room for us, we couldn't get to our food placed near the front door and most importantly the managers were rude. I, like most people at dinner will NOT be dining at Villa Antonio AGAIN!!!!
This place was incredible. The food was fabulous, the service was great, and the atmosphere was even better. The dessert was awesome. We really enjoyed ourselves and do plan to go back many more times!!
Upon entry to the restaurant, we almost turned back. If it had not been for the outstanding reviews we read. The entry of the restaurant smelled musty and moldy. A quick turn off in anticipation of a great Italian meal. Not to mention losing my appetite, and causing my sinuses to fill. Wine by the glass was overpriced. The brushetta was exceptionally delicious and came promptly to our table. Teh caesar salad at $8 a plate, although served tableside, it was made of pre-mixed dressig and bagged greens with not in house croutons
was worth about $3 only. The house special veal chop was EXCELLENTLY prepared and served. The veal Francese sauce was too floury or had too much cornstarch, in other words too think taking away from the rich flavor of the sauce. The side vegetables reeked FROZEN and quite disappointing for the reputation of the establishment. The tiramisu was not traditional but tasty. The lemon desserts a SURPRISE to the palate! I would not hurrry back, nothing memorable.
