Spataro has a new manager now that is dedicated to service and training. We were there last week and even though the restaurant was busy our server was attentive and friendly and suggested menu items that we may not have tried (the antipasto platter was great!) I suggest that you give them another try.
I'd give it a zero if I could. We went there for dinner before a show w/ reservations at 6:00. Show was at 8:00. Bottom line, we left there at 7;45 p.m. having not EVER been served our food. No one came to our table to explain until we hunted down the waiter. Worst part was both Spataro and Paragaray were on premises that night. No management came to explain what was going on. Blame was passed by the waiter. We complained via e-mail to Spatro, Paragaray and his wife. No sorrys, no response, nothing .Will never eat at a Paragary owned restuarnat again!
yukkiee food taste and quality. The service was rude. Managers nowhere to be found. Will never ever go there and tell everyone I know about my horrible experience. Judging from some of the other posts and the fact that someone actually complained to their General manager (read the other posts below), Spataro does not care about customer service anyway.
This restaurant gets very high marks for its design and ambience, and the service was pretty good. Overall, the food was average to above average, although some of it had to be sent back to be warmed up.
The salads and desserts weren't anything special, and the best bets for entrees were the skirt steak and the pasta dishes. Menu prices weren't outrageous; for the money, though, I think we'd choose someplace else.
I have eaten there and at Paragarys consistantly and food always wonderful. However Mothers Day was very forgettable, out of many things and place seemed like hodge podge was the call of the day.I was showing the place off to friends and was dissapointed at the whohe feel. Will come back but wow you should have stayed closed.
but has too much ambient noise. Entrees are executed beautifully. Not sure the kitchen has yet hit its stride. Desserts are fabulous. Wine list is extensive. Overall, a pleasant, worthwhile downtown restaurant.
Last night my husband and I dined at Spataro. Even though we had no reservations, the hostess greeted us right away with a smile and were seated within minutes. (It was, I guess, a slow Saturday night.) Once seated, the service was wonderful. Our server, who came to our table in a timely fashion, was very pleasant and welcoming. She made some food choice recommendations and let us eat at our own pace. Our food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. All in all it was a wonderful experience.
Ok, I went to SpaBar, which is connected.
The good: Nice atmosphere, friendly service, happy hour.
The bad: the food and the wait time. The pizza is thin and bland and the lunch time wait was 30 minutes and we had to ask for bread (which was yummy) and water. The restaurant was not too crowded. I would not go here again for lunch. Also the prices are high and not really worth it. I normally love the Paragary joints.
