A couple enjoying each others company tucked into a banquette late in the evening...a group of girlfriends people-watching from the sidewalk tables over brunch...two neighbors stopping by to grab lunch at the bar. These people all have one thing in common as they enjoy a meal here on Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights- Chouquet's. Whether inside our warm dining room or outside under the heated protection of our large awning, diners come to Chouquet's to enjoy fresh, seasonal French bistro fare in a casual yet refined environment. Join us for lunch, brunch, or dinner and let us satisfy you with signature dishes such as our grilled Ahi tuna with fennel ratatouille and Dungeness crab salad or with bistro classics such as steak frites, moules mariniere, and our famous Iles flottantes for dessert. To complement your meal, we offer over 12 wines by the glass from our eclectic wine list of smaller producers.
Had been here many times before today but will never go back. The most recent changes of staff and management have destroyed any allegiance I have. I ll spare you the details other than to say that the waitress who worked our table copped a major attitude about turning on the heat-lamps and lowering the canopy telling us that if it is cold why don t we just go the hell inside instead of inconveniencing her this way. She then brought us the wrong drinks (simple mistake that could have easily been rectified) copped an even worse attitude, refused to admit her mistake and started a heated slanging match with us, accusing us of not knowing the difference between Sierra Nevada and Kronenbourg (I mean, duuuuh!) It went from bad to worse and ultimately required the manager s intervention to calm her down and stop her shouting at us, but still no apology was forthcoming from either manager or waitress.
So... If you like going to places where the attitude from incompetent staff and uncaring management is Eff you, Mr stupid American customer be my guest, knock yourself out and experience it for yourself.
As for me, I will never go back. There are plenty of other places on Fillmore to eat and drink where regular customers business is valued and the staff are competent and courteous.
Hard to see this place staying in business if this is the experience they offer.
I went here with three of my girlfriends for the 2007 Dine About Town menu and we were all pretty disappointed with the food. Some of the appetizers were quite good, but the entrees were not - especially for the price. Given all the great dining options in San Francisco, this isn't a place I would go to again.
