They Lodge is as out-of-the-way as things get in Buffalo. That is to say, you can run across the length of the town in six minutes thirty-seven seconds. Trust me, I did it. However, you can't beat the scenery and people in the area. When staying at the Lodge, you feel like the service extends outside of the hotel and forty miles in any direction.
I stay there whenever I come through, irrespective of the time of day. While you're there, take the time to visit the areas of Harding County included in the Custer NATIONAL Forest, which is NOT an extension of Custer State Park, but is just as beautiful and completely free. A word to the wise, your GPS might not get you there.
I like to call the owners before planning my hunting trips to ask them about the weather i might encounter. They are very helpful and freindly with all my questions. the rooms are great, and reasonably priced too. there is not a lot in Buffalo, but there is just enough.
I thought the Motel was very clean with very friendly owners. It is a great value for the price and is surrounded by a beautiful landscape. I would recommend it to anyone passing through this beautiful area.
