So I was excited to eat at this restaurant before a comedy show I went to with my mom last night. I looked at the menu online before we went and thought the choices sounded wonderful. We planned on eating light since it was pretty pricey for an entree. Little did I know that I would be eating VERY light! I ordered the Bibb salad which literally (and this is no joke) consisted of 3 lettuce leaves, 2 teeny tiny pears and a handful of bleu cheese crumbles.....FOR $8.50! Needless to say I expressed my disgust in this to the waitress and she brought me an extra salad at no charge. This salad is listed under the salad category but what they need is to list it under APPETIZER salads. Service was fine but way too overpriced for the amount of food you get.
This is one of my favorite restaurants! **Everything** is delicious, the servers are professional and helpful, and the 'presentation' is just downright elegant!
Expect smaller portions -- this is NOT the place to go if you want to hurry through a meal. I recommend you take a few friends and each of you make a couple of selections so you can sample a bit of everything. You won't be disappointed. Pleasing wine list. All in all a wonderful and memorable dining experience.
We dined at the Bridge Road Bistro on May 8th. I found the location great, easy to find and within a short distance of downtown Charleston. I had the free-range chicken which was lightly seared and the meat still moist. The wine list was broad and included a great Marimar Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley. Overall a great place to dine in Charleston and a great change from the downtown mall locations of the other area high-end restaurants.
I had the best experience while dining there. The server was so attentive and knew all about the wines there. The people who prepared our food did an amazing job. I think the server said his name was James?? He did a wonderful job tailoring my food tastes to ensure a perfect meal!! I will recommend this place to all my friends.
DELICIOUS! I live in Ohio. While watching a PBS movie, I saw an Oriental chef doing creative things with Char fish... then I heard them say, Charleston WV !! Wow, I had to come here for work this week and I told my husband to come along for our anniversary. I told him that I saw this restaurant and that I wanted us to try it... He is Jamaican and very picky... Let me tell you... We BOTH love the food and the staff treated us very well.... The chef on duty made some delicious Onion Soup. better than any I've ever had!
Glad to have had the chance for the experience. The place is nice and ladies, the bathroom was very clean too!!!! You must try it!
I took my pregnant wife and two sons here for Fathers day. Food was sorta bland, and pricey. But even worse only one server covered the entire floor. Never refreshed drinks, only checked on us once during meal, and to beat it all waited almost 10 minutes on the bill, then 10 more for him to come back and tke card, and lastly 5 more for signature reciept. Sorry server tip took a hit for this!
To Mike Diethorn and the staff of The Bridge Road Bistro:
Thank you all so much for the beautiful work you did on the accommodations and the food for our wedding. We wanted you to know that everything was beautiful, and that everyone enjoyed themselves very much! Your help with our wedding was very much appreciated.

This is by far the best restaurant experience in Charleston, hands down. The atmosphere is casual, the staff well trained, and the food superb. Hospitality service in WV is generally poor, but not here. Waitress was attentive and friendly without being annoying. You can't get food this good anywhere else in Charleston. The duck is unbelievable.
