BEST SUSHI I EVER HAD! BUT REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY MESSED UP ON MY ORDER THE OTHER DAY AND I HAD TO RETURN BACK TO THE RESTUARANT TO PICK UP MY CORRECT ORDER. THEY DIDNT EVEN APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR MISTAKE INSTEAD THEY WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE BROUGHT THE WRONG ORDER BACK. THATS SO UNPROFFESSIONAL! ...:(
Best Sushi place in Dallas! I live really close with several options including Blue Fish. This place is a little less expensive and taste 10x better! You havent had sushi until you have had Fuji Yama.
My wife love Butterfly Kisses, Baked Salmon Roll, and Frankfort Roll. Cant go wrong with any of them.
I have been there twice so far and the food is AWESOME! Nothing I have had has been anything but off the chain. Diego (sushi chef) is very personable and creative. My husband and I are taking friends of ours there this evening and I can't wait. If you go...have the Mango Tango. It is an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Sit at the bar, if you can, it is always more fun.
They must be doing something right, they have been there for six years and counting.
As far as pricing goes, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for sushi cheap, then expect to get the smallest of rolls and not the freshest of fish.
We have already made plans to eat there during our next girl's weekend before we head out of town. If it has been awhile since you have been there, maybe it is time you try it again.
staff: friendly, welcoming and attentive
location: plenty parking, not a crowded square
ambiance: not flashy, huge or cutting-edge, just simple, clean and pleasant
quality of raw meats: no aftertaste or aging scents but not the freshest you can acquire (consider that it is located hundreds of miles from the nearest fishing docks)
presentation of food: neat and clean but sushi components collapse easily
size of sushi cuts: large, thick and very filling
price: average about $1 less per sushi serving when compared to more popular sushi joints
perks: be generous about complimenting the cooks on their food and they will throw in extra slices of sushi on your plate
We went to this place for dinner last night after reading the excellent reviews. The things we liked right away: the ambiance inside, the friendly staff, and the very reasonable prices. Then we decided to try 4 different sushi rolls...
The sushi was just ok, honestly. While the fish tasted fresh, neither the seaweed nor the rice did. Blue Fish and Naan are still our favorites for variety and freshness, but we had hoped that Fuji Yama would be a new favorite given the lower prices. Unfortunately, Fuji Yama did not meet our expectations and, in our opinion, did not seem deserving of all of the 5 stars in the other reviews.
I absolutely love this little spot. It's quick when you need to be and relaxing when it's a must!! The people are genuinely sincere and helpful!! I live right across the street and it's so convenient to have a great and affordable sushi place close.
