This was the worst dinning experience I have ever had. Ok so my and my best friend decide to try out this new spot in Houston thats been blowing up everyone's tv. So when we get there we werent acknowledged until 10-15 mins by our waiter. Who happened to be so busy with all of 4 people in his station. By the way the place wasnt packed at all so we were already questioning the service capabilities. Then it took another 30-45 mins before our food arrived and by this time the manager was already notified of the poor service that we had received but I guess it didnt make a difference cause nothing changed nor were we compensated for the sorry performance of the staff. I didn't enjoy my meal because of the way eveyone acted from the top to the bottom. It was like we didnt exist and we didn't get service until we called out for our waiter to stop by which was totally uncalled for......
Everything was o.k. up until the food we ordered came out, now thats when the problem started. The steak tasted burnt, the shrimp was suppose to been fried, but they were on cabob sticks grilled, cheesesticks were lukewarm not hot.Got the manager over there she wants to have an attitude, that surely was a minus on her part. We ended up reordering our food and it was just a waste of money, time and effort.
After reading about poor service and a bad manager that some folks had last fall, I have to provide a review of our experience (4 ladies) one Saturday afternoon in February. Our waiter was new and not very experienced... but, otherwise he was good. The person that delivered my order however snapped when I said my order was wrong. After bringing this to the attention of the manager, the manager went above and beyond to make sure my order was as requested. Yes, I was being a bit picky... I wanted a chicken quesedilla on a wheat tortilla with low fat cheese. Nothing elaborate, but not exactly as advertised under the Weight Watchers menu items. In any event, I cannot say enough about how the manager made things right and, because of his efforts, my group of 4 will be going back.
My first time at Applebee's on a date with my fiance, and we sat in the smoking section. If you are gonna sit in the smoking section, bring your earplugs because the television will be blasting.
The service was not as speedy as I would have liked it to be. My fiance and I were wondering if the waitress remembered that we were on her tab. She did a good job of serving us, when she was there. It is common for a waitress to come back every so often, and atleast ask to refill our drink, and done not right before we get ready to walk out.
The food was great, except for the Applebee's Riblets, which I heard was their specialty. I found if you go in the early evenings you get better food than going on the night shifts. My Riblets were dry, and I hated the fact they were cooked with the sauce, instead of pouring the sauce on the meat after it was done. The beans I had with my meal were a little undercooked. My Fiance had the mix and match steak and shrimp which was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were awesome.
You can't beat the price at Applebee's - between my fiance and I, we bought 2 acoholic beverages, 2 meals, another beverage, and 2 desserts all for 40.00! The price is good for this restruarant, and they are not that bad. It's like a cheaper standards to Bennigans, but it works and it's a nice looking restuarant.
