nothing better in miles. another Mex. restaurant,, a franchise, opened across the street that was better accessible. It closed after 6 months. Try the fish taco or the jalisciense. Incredible!

Best mexican food I have ever eaten. I have taken many friends to this resturant to introduce them to the great food. The service is very good and it has a nice comfortable atmosphere.

I went to Amigo's for many years before discovering El torito. I have no desire to go back to Amigo's . El Torito is the best Mexican in JC. I have had nothing disappointing me yet. Highly Recommended!

Best mex I've found in JC! Before I moved here, I tried other Mexican restaurants based on the reviews I found here on yahoo local. Most notably El Matador. While the food there was tasty, it was nowhere close to authentic! I've lived in places (Chicago, Florida) where there is a very large Mexican population, as well as having traveled throughout Texas, and trust me, I KNOW authentic Mexican. When I wandered into El Torito and ordered horchata, and they didn't look at me cross-eyed, I knew I had found the right place! The horchata was the best I've had (tasted almost like a liquid cinnamon bun -- if you've never tried it, be sure to treat yourself next time you go!), and it only got better from there. I had the Grande burrito, and it was, indeed, GRANDE! Not to mention delicious. If you like REAL Mexican food, you simply MUST try this place. If you're into Taco Bell...well, there's one around here somewhere...but you'll be missing out on the delicious, real food dished up by El Torito.

I have eaten at many mexican restaurants in the southern United States and I dare find one better. They have the typical mexican fare but the authentic dishes are amazing.

This convenient place--and the one in Elizabethton, too--serve the best Mexican food we've found in the area, with great service.

This restaurant has OUTSTANDING service and great tasting, authentic food. No other Mexican restaurant comes close to El Torito except those in Texas and Mexico.

I cannot begin to describe the incredible experience I have everytime I go here. Their food is wonderful and authentic. They are polite, courteous people who take pride in their business. They are 110% dedicated to making your experience a pleasant one. You are definately in for a treat with this south of the border atmosphere and delicous cuisine. A++ for this fine casual dinning....I go at least twice a week... Muy Bien Amigos tu comida esta fantastico!!!!!

I dont like Mexican food, but all my friends do, so El Torito is great cause they have a kids menu with american food that i like.
