Decided to try the Noisy Oyster while strolling through Charleston...it sure is noisy in there. Very popular and crowded, there was about a 20 minute wait for seating. A cool thing about this restaurant is the large windows that are open in favorable weather, allowing you to feel as if you are dining outside.
The waitress was pleasant and the food arrived quickly. I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone looking for great food in a casual atmosphere.
We ate here twice on our vacation, we loved it so the first time. The food tasted very fresh and was hot. The She-Crab soup is wonderful! The serving size is more than enough. And the Chocolate Cake is fabulous! We ate at the Downtown and North Charleston locations.
Nice atmosphere, but had to wait 20 min for table even though there were plenty of open ones. Good service and food, not spectacular. Good location with some seats near sidewalk and streets. Would probably go back, but woudnt wait for table.
My husband and I visited this restaurant in August of 2007 when I was 8 months pregnant. I was really enjoying a flavorful meal when I almost cracked my tooth on a piece of an oyster shell. Neither my husband nor I ordered oysters, so I told my server what had happened. He just shrugged his shoulders and reminded me that I was at an oyster place, so there were bound to be oyster shells! In my rice?!? I don't think I would ever go back here.
We visit the Noisy Oyster every time we are in the Charleston area. The North Charleston location has a great outdoor patio and the downtown location is in the middle of everything you would want to be in Charleston for.
The food and service are always top notch. The crab dip is out of this world and the fried green tomatoes are like grandma used to make. The chopped salad makes you look at a lettuce salad in a new light…DELISH! All of the seafood we have had there has been extremely fresh and tasty prepared with care and creativity. I recommend the key lime pie for desert so be sure to leave some room.
We will always go out of our way to dine there; because it is well worth it!
Food here was great but not filling even after the dessert. The service was excellent. Just ask for Zachary. I didn't have to wait for a thing. He knew when to bring out the drinks and dessert. You would have thought he had a low level meter on my glass or something. That's the type of service and food that will make me return whenever I'm back in Charleston, SC.
