I recently wanted to have a celebration at Maroones. I contacted the place a few times, leaving messages, but the owner never responded. I decided to go there for lunch, and hoped to be able to speak with the owner, but he wasn't there. During our luncheon, he came in. The waitress gave him the message, and let him know I was anxious to speak to him. Instead of coming over to our table, he just told the waitress what to say to us. Very unprofessional and rude at that. If that were my place, I'd have made it a point to acknowledge my customers. Other than that, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is great (wow!) and the service was quick. The prices are suprisingly reasonable. Our waitress was kind and on the ball. I would recommend Maroones for a fine eating experience. The owner, however, has much to be desired. Sorry. Oh, and by the way, he did not allow our celebration when we wanted it because we needed it downstairs for handicap accessibility, and they could not accommodate it. Understandable.
Worst place ever! I live in the area and have been wanting to go and try their food so finally I did. The waitress was not somebody who should work with people, she was rude. On top of that I ordered the Skook and they didn t have bleenies but they ll replace it with something else ok halupki she comes back to say they only have one left well haluski it is. Then when I FINALLY got my food (which was premade obviously so why it took so long I don t know) it was the worst food I have ever eaten. They should change their name and the name of the food on the menu... they in no way should be related to the Maroon s or Schuylkill County because they are a disgrace. After I went their and post how terrible their food was on facebook I have 10+ people tell me how horrible their experience was!! RIDICULOUS!!
My friends and I stumbled upon this bar on our way home from the Yeungling Brewery. The owners were so nice and we got a history lesson about the Maroons football team, which was pretty interesting. The food was awesome and priced well. I highly recommend the Buffallo Wing Dip! It's buffallo wings (minus the bones) served in a bread bowl!! Plenty of choices of beer on tap. Couldn't ask for a better atmosphere....and to boot, my friends and I are all former military and the owner proudly displayed the fact that she has one son serving in Afghanastan and one about to leave for the Marines. Just an all around great American Pub!
Special menu items are weak. The price is about 10% cheaper but the portion size is 50% smaller. Ordered peppers for cheese-steak and got banana rings (not cool) ..... although in all fairness the cheese-steak was packed with meat. The BBQ chipotle lime wing sauce is the best sauce ever. Its great, just make sure the wings are cooked all the way ..... not joking. Prices are typical of a place like this. About $30 for two people. Their liquor collection is decent as well. They have Johnny Walker Blue Label which is always a win. This isn't the greatest place ever but at least its not Casa De Telez (spelling?)
Lunch at Marrons service was terrible, soup was cold and my turkey sandwich only had 1/2 a piece of meat on it.when I told server about the food she could care less. The place is for sale i guess they don't care.
