Marino's Restaurant opened its doors for business in September 2004 as a full service restaurant with an exquisite atmosphere. The restaurant may be considered a historical landmark as it housed several other hometown businesses for well over 100 years and for its location across the street from the notable Hornell Railroad Depot.
I think Marino s is fantastic. Before I moved out of the area, I was in there once a week with my best friend, whether it was for drinks at the bar, a nice dinner or just snacks. Sitting at the bar is always fun because everyone comes to Marino s -- there are plenty of people to see. On the menu, the fish is always cooked perfectly -- I once had a Cajun fish that was outstanding -- the chicken saltimbocca is great and I always seriously consider their specials after having the best open face prime rib sandwich EVER one day for lunch. The prices are good, the food is great, the service is terrific -- shout out to Theresa! -- and the experience is excellent. Enjoy!
We've eaten here many times, the food has been outstanding. Because of our previous experience, we were excited to treat our out of town guests. There were 6 of us, 3 ordering the seafood platter. The talapia was so fishy it was unedible. The platter included 3 med scallops and 3 med shrimp (both over cooked), a potato and a salad. We had a couple bottles of wine. Bill was $120 after being compensated $3 per seafood platter. I wrote to Marino's describing in detail. I received a well written apology letter and a business card offering a free appetizer. Very disappointing. I can't bring myself to go back any time soon.
