tone down the chili

I love Indian food...and grew up eating it in Europe. So I was excited when Mela opened. However, I have now eaten there three times and what I find is that almost every dish has so much chilli pepper in it that it obscures the other, wonderful spices of Indian cuisine and basically hurts...both on the way in, and on the way out! I actually like pretty spicy food, but not when it hinders enojoyment of the meal. Other than that, the ambience is lovely, the menu interesting and the lunch buffet is a great deal.
