Big Daddy's Restaurant, Kure Beach

We were told to go there once if we had never been there- once was enough. We will not go back. Broiled seafood was dry with little flavor. Salad bar was very basic-nothing to brag about, and our server-while she was nice-had never tried many of the menu items. One trip was more than enough.

I have been at burger places where the food was better and you got more of it. Oct. 31 2009 my family stopped at this place unknowing what was about to come about. My son's plate is first. He ordered the 8 oz steak and 1/2 pound of crablegs. When it came (the steak!!) was the size of a jr hamburger from a dollar meun and the 1/2 pound of legs was 4 that were so small the crackers just squeezed them. This was $24.99. My wife ordered a combo of scallops and 1/2 pound of shrimp. She got 4 scallops and 12 shrimp, plus a baked potato. This was $18.99. ( Big value so for right?). Now for the real prize. I ordered a scallop plate, with a baked potato. I got 10 scallops, I buttered my potato and took a bite. It had a funny taste. I gave my wife a small bite, she spit it out as fast as she put it in her mouth. She said that potato is ROTTEN!! I sit it to the side to wait on the waitress. It was to late, I ran to the bathroom sick. When I came back the potato was gone and the waitress brought a new one. The damage was already done. I told her that I didn't want a new one plus I didn't want the scallop plate either. By the way this was $18.99. She removed the food and said how sorry she was. I sat there while my wife and son eat. The waitress came back by and once again said how sorry she was and that she would remove the cost of my plate. LIKE SHE REALLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PAY FOR IT !! Let's just say the bill I payed was no where close to the true price. Less

Excellent food and service. They make you feel at home! you can't beat it! we will be back for sure on our next vacation!!!
