Ford Rouge Factory Tour
All tours begin on the historic grounds of The Henry Ford . Buses depart for the factory every 20 minutes. During this self guided tour you have the opportunity to experience five separate elements: The Legacy Theater, The Art of Manufacturing Theater, the Observation Deck Tour, the Legacy Gallery, and the Assembly Plant Walking Tour. While you're in the manufacturing plant, you have the opportunity to witness new Ford F-150s being put together from an elevated walkway. Note that actual vehicle production will vary on a daily basis, so if you are set on this portion of the tour please check ahead to make sure you avoid coming on a day when the assembly line is at a stop.
The bus portion of the tour was poor. All the buses have the windows covered with their adds which makes it almost impossible to see the points of interest on the video.
Once in the factory the presentaion was very good and the self guided tour of the assembly line was nice. I was dissappointed that they do not allow photo's of any kind inside the assembly line area.
I would recommend this tour to anyone, but allow a full day if you want to see the museum and village.
Fit this tour into your schedule. Allow more than the recommended time for the assembly line. You walk on a continuous balcony that allows great views of various stages of F150 assembly. First 3 tour components are escorted, but the assembly line is not; stay as long as you want. Line stopped at 11:30 for 1/2 hr lunch.
well organized, very informative, simply put a lot of fun and interest for eveyone.you can see how trucks are put together.you will see a very interesting presentation about how ford motor company is protecting the enviornment in its manufactoring process.allow at least two to three hours to see .
