The 1923 Yankee Stadium is a historic landmark in the world of Major League Baseball. Some of the sport's greatest players have spent their careers there, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, and Joe DiMaggio. Though they'll never be able to replace this monument, the franchise debuted their new stadium in 2009, directly across the street from their old park. The "new" Yankee Stadium has many new features, such as expanded walkways, more concessionaires, and a renovated Monument Park. Lifetime fans will notice familiar touches, though, the biggest among them being the outfield frieze back in its original location around the upper deck. Suite and party facilities are available for those looking for something slightly more private. Check website for pricing, schedules, and other info.
I ran a 5K on the field and have never personally went to a game at the new stadium ( i have been to like 100 at the old stadium) but overall it was a very nice field and the stadium was very nice. Again, I have never seen the stadium in action, but i was in the lounges and rooms like that and it was a very nice field. I would deffentaly go again!
i went twice this season, once memorial day weekend and again labor day weekend that stadium is the best. I am truly gonna miss it but excited to see the new one. As far as the neihborhood i love it old cobblestone apartments, souviner stores all over the place. Newyork is the best place in the world. I am from california and outside of the weather newyork is much better.
The best part of Yankee Stadium is it's history. As for a ballpark itself, not that special. The classics like Fenway and Wrigley have so much more personality.
Yankee Stadium doesn't have much of a neighborhood either.
I loved it cuz I luv the YANKEES!!!!!!
Woooooooooo!!!!!! u giz rok!!!!
It is a really great experience cuz u may b on TV!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! The overall trip was great and I would know cuz I've came all the way from Kansas many times just to see them play!!!!!!!
I took a tour of Yankee Stadium with some family members. Ten security staff treated all of the visitors like little kids (we paid $15 each as well). They lack human relations skills. Frequently they can be overheard in a condescending tone, shouting at the "guests" to pack into an elevator or move closer to the retired plaques at Monument Park. Today, one guest and his family were actually thrown out by a female security guard for using their videocamera to take still pictures- even though one of the other guards stated it was OK to do so. Real nice people....
