My wife and have gone to Ichiban for the hibachi grill several times over the years. Last weekend, we went to Kobe for the first time. The food was delicious! Far, far better than Ichiban. We had steak, chicken and shrimp. The fried rice was excellent, and the noodles were out of this world. Our chef, Kenny, was the best in the business, as far as I'm concerned. He was funny and entertaining. But what did it for both of us was the flavor of the food, and how perfectly cooked it was.
I had to knock off a star because of the atmosphere. The restauraunt could really use a remodel. Compared to Ichiban, the physical environment was large, empty, and dilapidated. The prices were nearly identical, so I expect more than just great food for the cost.
I love Kobe! It's bar far my fav. I look forward to going there again as soon as I leave! I try to get there about every other week just to satisfy my craving! I am not too excited that they changed their noodles, but can be overlooked because there is no other place that can compare! The prices may seem a little high, but if you look at all the food that you get with it, it's actually a really good deal! It's by far the best!
I love Kobe. It has a great ethnic atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else. They have amazing vegetarian options which is important to my finance' and I. We only get out there a few times a year due to the drive and the price but it is definitely a treat when we due get out there.
We took a party of eight out to Kobe for dinner besides being real expensive, poor service, the food tasted decent however all of us got sick for the next 24 hrs from food poising I figured the shrimp wasnt cooked all the way. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING BRING TONY ROMANS BACK
I have been to Kobe a few times and it seems as though it gets worse and worse every time I go. I was there on Saturday 10/4. I was there with a party of 4 and we waited 30 mins for a table. Once seated I opened the menu and I was shocked, there are several items that have covered by white out, there are 2 pages staples together and my menu had some sort of red stain on it. I found out later that the pages where staples together because the kitchen chef quit and you can no longer order any meals that are not cooked in front of you. I ordered Steak and shrimp and my wife ordered lobster (market price). We also ordered 2 rolls from the suhi bar as an app. The waiter no longer took our order and he was there with our soup and salad he had not even finished passing out them out and the cook showed up and started cooking our meal. The chef was mexican and barely spoke English, his tricks were simple and mi placed. I had almost completed my meal and realized my sushi never came. I asked the waiter what the deal was and he left to check on it. He came back and told me the ticket had not printed and it would be right out. I informed him my meal was over and it was ordered as an app he sd that happens sometimes and offered me nothing for my inconvience. The food was decent but for a meal that was $95.37 I expect a LOT more. I will not be returning to Kobe,
