Alone in paradise!

One of the best kept secrets about tiny (10 x 30 miles) Molokai is the vast number of breathtakingly beautiful beaches one finds scattered plentifully along its shores. One of the more picturesque of the many just like it, Murphy's Beach is on the East End of the island and faces Maui, lying 8.5 miles across the Pailolo Channel; it is so stunningly pretty to first behold that one immediatyely wonders why it isn't jam-packed with tourists. What is even more surprising about it is that it is invariably completely empty (just like most all of Molokai's jewel-like beaches) and you can have it to yourself almost any day of the week.
Sixty years ago Murphy's Beach was a sort of casual dumping ground for the East End locals, but in past decades the lagoon was cleaned up and the beach turned into a pristine beach. With clear, translucent waters that are great for skin-diving and snorkeling, Murphy's Beach beckons invitingly to the sun-bather, the visiting family on an outing, or just anyone who wants to be alone with the natural splendor of the area. Murphy's Beach is just one of mmany interesting sites to be found on Highway 450 traveling East from kaunakakai. Your chance to enjoy paradise all by yourself (or in the company of someone you care for dearly), for at Murphy's Beach life truly IS good!
