Maui waters offer more than surface-level thrills, particularly if you go 125 feet below. For 15 years, this Coast Guard-certified crew has shown people the wonders that lie beneath the waves. The Maui tour includes an exploration off the coast of Lahaina. Coral found only in this region is a highlight, as is the marine wildlife that frequent the waters. Prices are moderate. Plantation tours, sky tours and luau packages are also available through Atlantis. Call for more information.
2 words: Waste money.
If you expect to see the colourful underwater world, full of different species of fishes and coral reefs, you will be extremely dissapointed if you joined this tour, this was how we felt. You should head to the underwater world aquarium instead.
What we saw throughout the whole submarine journey was a piece of grey land at the bottom of the sea, 2 bunches of small fishes, 1st one yellow, 2nd one greyish black, 1 small stingray, and 1 sunken ship.
Will not attached any photos here, as the photos will look extremely dissapointing and pathetic.
Overall, if your intention is to experience the submarine ride, then maybe you will wan to spend this money. Otherwise, it is advisable that you join a snorkelling trip at much lower price.
This was advertised as " see sunken ships, sea life, etc.". Mostly we saw lots of sandy bottom, few fish and spent lots of time just turning the sub so the other side could see. If you want to say you went 100 ft. down on a sub, go for it. But you'll have a better time and see more on the sub at Disneyland than you will on the one in Honolulu. For the price we were sadly disappointed. But the crew was great, I'll give them that.
All staff on board the taxi and the sub were very upbeat and friendly. My son and I had a blast and I would love to take the entire family aboard the submarine! We saw so many schools of fish and the water was so amazing that day!
Fun to go out on and under the ocean - hadn't been on a sub before! Interesting craft, crew was very friendly and "silly" with their wit. Fun to see what the bottom looks like at 133 feet with the schools of fish, coral - - -
Even so, it seemed limited in it's scope of travel (how far can you go at 2.5 knots?) and a somewhat limited variety of sea bottom viewing.
This is only a 45 minute dive into the ocean bottom. Not worth the price. Don't remember how much it was since we got it in a package but you have a better experience at the Maui Ocean Center for way less!!
