If you want to kayak with 20 other people and barely see your guide - then Makena Kayak & Tours is not the place for you. My son and I had a personal tour with Dino the owner. He is a native of Maui and has a true love of the ocean and the island. We were beginners and he tailored the trip to our skill level and the sights we were interested in. My son wanted to see the Sea Turtles and Dino took us out to a spot where we were able to snorkel and see several turtles. Dino got out and snorkeled with us and pointed out several things that we would have missed. Throughout the tour - he taught us about ocean life and the history of the island. He limits his trips to small groups and takes a true interest in his customers. A truly beautiful, educational, and fun experience. Well worth the time and money.
