What a Sweet Surprise!

We stopped at the museum, thinking it "couldn't be much", but thought we might as well see what it had to offer. Although slightly confused by the entry to the displays, we found many interesting historical offerings, including a huge, hand-sewn flag. How tedious that must have been to make, and imagine the dedication it took to DO it! The museum, had special "stations" for children throughout the rooms, but they appeared to be for groups, perhaps field trips, etc.
Other items clearly depicted the ingenious methods and primitive equipment used to harvest a crop and get it to market. Even though the rooms weren't very brightly lit, it was perfect for a short video, which added interest and topped off the visit -- or so we thought! Still to be seen was a pleasant and homey gift shop, where we found the slack guitar CD I'd been looking for, some fancy jams for my brother in Michigan, a bit of sugar cane to chew on, as well as a wide variety of books and treasures which I left for others to peruse!
All in all, for such a small admission fee, it really was a "sweet treat" (including the free sample offered as we left)!
