Along with Wailea, this is the resort hotspot of the island. Ka'anapali is Maui's equivalent of Waikiki Beach, although it comes nowhere close to being that big or busy. The entire beach is open to the public. Access is available through resort grounds, as are public restrooms and showers. Plenty of shops and restaurants are located right along the strip. The sands are warm and gold; the water is clear and flat. A major Ka'anapali landmark is Black Rock. Once known as soul's leap, this rock is still a popular jumping point for locals and particularly brave visitors.

Nice area of Maui
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/29/08
We enjoyed our stay here in February. Beautiful sunsets, sandy beach, great whale watching, shopping, and restaurants of all kinds. Would like to return here again.

Paradise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/08
Kaanapali is my favorite place on earth. Serene and beutiful but with lots of things to do. Eating out gets pricey and hotels are pricey as well but woth it. The Westin is our favorite spot. Hula Grill the best food there.

Great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/08
It is clean, safe and civilized. The beach at Kaanapali is beautiful. It is not croweded. I have seen dolphins, whales, and sea turtles while on the beach. The water is clean and warm. LOVE IT The hotels are right on the beach and most of the pools are heated! You can swim at night, unlike in mexico! Lahaina is a great place to spend the evening, dining out or shopping.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/07
I loved this beach!! It was very pretty and so much fun for my siblings and I to play in! We all had a blast! It was my favorite beach on Maui! It was also very clean and sanitary! It had the prettiest blue water ever! It was gorgeous!! I went in 2006 and I'm going again in 2008. I hope it is as just as good!! =]

Maui with No Worries
By Sarah, 10/26/07
Granted, Kaanapali Beach is where most of the Maui vacationing regulars hang out but there's a reason: climate and best beaches. It's a little snootier than the Kihei strip and all conveniences are minutes away. If you've already toured the island and just want to come to Maui to relax, dis is da place. The new book, No Worries Hawaii, got us here and we're not leaving for another month. It's not high season and it's the perfect place to be. Friendly staff and it's easy to make friends. We're at the Kaanapali Villas and we recommend it highly.

Just got back!
By Kim, 10/13/07
This was a beautiful an quiet beach, at this time of years anyways. The snorkeling off of our hotel was excellent. My husband swam w/ a sea turtle and all it cost us was the $15 snorkel rental from out hotel.Kaanapali was close to everything we wanted to do and more! Remember that everything in Hawaii is more expensive though. You need to shop around for deals on food and excursions.

Wish I could come back again!
By T, 08/27/07
The Ka'anapali Beach is beautiful! There are many different restaurants along the beach, perfect after an evening stroll. It was amazing to see the Black Rock and great to see that the tradition of saying good-bye to the sun with a conch is still alive.

Favorite Place To Be In Maui
By roseyposey, 08/02/07
I've been going here for 6 years now, and it feels as if this is my second home. The employees at some of the hotels even remember me, and we've gotten to be great friends! Whalers Village is a must-see, and the shopping is fabulous! I love Honalua Wahine, Roxy, and Lelani's!

Snorkeler's paradise
By Just Me, 06/20/07
Never been snorkeling before I went here - what a way to spoil yourself for all other snorkeling adventures! Sea turtles, colorful fish, VERY safe conditions for swimming even right next to the rocks for a beginner like me. That is to say I would take my ten year old on this swim but neither of us are beginning swimmers. Just wonderful. Tip: rather than rent go buy your gear on the cheap at Costco on your way in from the airport.
