Goofy Foot Surf School, Lahaina

4 professional women on Maui for a week, all different ages. We booked surf lessons with Goofy foot because they guaranteed everyone would be able to get up on the board and surf! True to their word, we all got surfed and our instructor made it easy!! We couldn't have been more satisfied with staff and instructors at Goofy Foot! We had so much fun, we rented surf boards for the rest of the week. Don't miss this, it is a great value for the money and sooooo much fun. As for instructors, ask for Princess Bully!

I paid $65 for my 16 year old son to get a professional surfing lesson. Although the instructor was nice and did a good job with his land based instruction, once they got to the water, it was so crowded and the instructor was unable to give the students many chances to catch a wave. There were 3 other surf schools in the water at the same time. There must have been 50 people in the water. Nevertheless, I watched other schools instructors get their students wave after wave as my son and his fellow students were off to the side waiting. He only got a chance to ride about 8 waves. It was a joke. Go to a different school. Island Style on Kaanapali is significantly less crowded.

Our two sons Alex(12) and Daniel(9) were very excited about learning to surf. I was a little apprehensive on how much they would really learn in a 2 hour session. Luke was their instructor and was EXCELLENT. He had them up on their first try but you could tell that he continued to try to perfect their technique as the lesson progressed. They are now very excited to go rent surf boards to get out there again. I would highly recommend Goofy Foot to anyone. Luke did a wonderful job!!! I would also get the photos. Very high quality.

I rented boards a couple of days, and I was really stoked with the ease of doing business and the enthusiasm of the staff at Goofyfoot. Alicia was a fantastic representative and she was very intent on making the board rental experience painless. She outfitted me, my wife, and kids and gave us some tips on best surf spots on the days that we rented. we rented at Goofyfoot on the advise of a friend, and the experience even exceeded the recommendation. I will recommend Goofyfoot to all of my friends travelling to Maui!

MY FAMILY TOOK A GROUP CLASS. WE RANGE IN AGE FROM 10 TO 48. MATT AND NATE WERE FANTASTIC INSTRUCTORS-PATIENT, FUNNY AND PROVIDED INDIVIDUALIZED FEEDBACK TO EACH OF US. WE WERE READY TO SIGN UP FOR ANOTHER CLASS! THE FUN CONTINUED WHEN WE WATCHED OUR PICTURES LATER THAT NIGHT!

Last year I went on a trip to Hawaii for my birthday present and it was amazing. One of the best parts of my vacation was when I went to the the Goofy Foot Surf School. My instructor was Mack and he was awesome. He was very social and funny and nice. The first thing we did after we got all the paperwork and stuff signed was go down to the beach itself and take Sand Lessons. That's basically where you learn technique and the basic idea of what you are supposed to do. Then you get to go out into the water and practice what you learned on land in the water without surfing the waves quite yet. Then finally you get to go out and surf some waves. It was a truly amazing experience and just to prove my point, Mack and I were having so much fun that we accidently stayed out a whole half an hour after the two-hour lesson was over. I definitely recommend this to anyone going to Hawaii who wants to learn to surf.

my wife and i just wanted to share how great of a time we had in maui. One of the highlights was surfing with outrageous surf school. A great service they provided was having the boards waiting for us on the beach, and we didn't have to carry them down to the beach. Our instructor was todd!

I was really excited about my first time surfing. Mike from Goofy Foot started off with a put on smile, but as the lesson continued his arrogance, impatience, and lack of a fun, upbeat learning environment clearly showed through. I was very disappointed with Goofy Foot's customer service and negative atmosphere. Go to Maui Wave Riders instead. As I waited and waited for my turn (our instructor couldn't even handle 2 people), I watched a group of 6 riders with Maui Wave Riders catching wave after wave from a very fun, encouraging, and positive instructor. Instead of yelling at their learners (like Mike did), they gave high fives and smiles.

Always wanted to surf and now have pictures and a little diploma to prove it. Great instructor who explaned what I needed to know and got me surfing in less than two hours. People taking lessons were from kids (their own instructor) to my group that was over 40. Early morning classes compared to the other schools so you can be back to do things with the non-surfers without blowing the entire day.

I went here with my family to learn to surf, and starting out, I was very scared/nervous. The people at Goofy Foot Surf School were encouraging, and were the nicest people!!! My instructors were Luke and Mikey, so if they are reading this, this is Evelyn, and you guys were the best! Inow go to San Diego to Surf Diva, which is also great, and am surfing (almost) like a pro!! Thanks again!
