What a trip!
By ,
This is one class outfit. I took the all-day snorkeling excursion to Lana'i. I was surprised that in mid-week during the so-called low season, there were almost 50 people joining me -- but that was no impediment to this talented crew. They were very friendly, unbelievably efficient and helpful, and the entire trip was a blast. This trip included a two-hour sail to our destination in Lana'i, snorkeling, a tour of the island (which I bowed out of) and a barbeque lunch/early dinner overlooking Manele Harbor. Highlights other than the snorkeling (which is very good) were the treat of a traditional Lana'i song of welcome from a close friend of the crew who happened to be on board, to a couple songs by a talented crew member (joined by Captain Brian) during the dinner, and a moving, reggae-inspired version of "Somwhere Over the Rainbow" by the same crewmember as we were pulling back into Lahaina at the end of the day. All in all, an A+ effort. The trip was enjoyable, the crew friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was actually good!!! Highly recommended for anyone.

Absolutely positively a winner!!!!!!!!!
By ,
We found out about this trip through Hawai'i magazine and are so glad that we did!! As we had never been to Lana'i in our myriad trips to Mau'i, we thought that this would be a good way to see it. We had been told that Lana'i was rather staid and boring as there are only two hotels full of haoles. This proved to be correct. BUT the trip on the catamaran, going and coming, was wonderful. Be sure to ask for Captain Gabe! The crew was marvelous, feeding us delicious food constantly and caring for us in general. The trip out of Lahaina harbour was spectacular with sea turtles (honu) following us. Into the harbour at Lana'i, we saw what is said to be the largest pod of spinner dolphins anywhere. They seemed to be expecting us as they put on a remarkable show! Then to Manale Bay for snorkling. It's a marine reserve (no fishing by the locals) so so the fish are huge and very unafraid of humans. The town of Lana'i City is rather unexciting but there are a very few sights to see like wonderful flowers, trees, and some odd wildlife that you wouldn't expect to see in Hawai'i. One of the big draws here happens to be hunting. After this, we went back to a pavilion overlooking the harbour and feasted on teriyaki chicken done huli huli style (grilled). Then back to Lahina with drinks and dessert on the way. The whold trip was incredibly well planned and executed. We WILL do it again! They also go to Moloka'i which may our next ride.

Trilogy snorkel to Molokini Crater
By ,
Trilogy exceeded our expectations in every way on June 18. Very personable & helpful. A great day of snorkeling. Part of our celebration of 40 years of marriage. A decent size group without crowding. Breakfast & BBQ lunch on a catamaran and sailed back part way. Even had ice cream. Highly pleased with crew, their safety and information they cover in transit.

fun fun fun

I liked the sites that we snorkeled at. The crew was so helpful, friendly and so much fun. The island of Lanai is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Some of my best pictures from my trip were taken on that island. This excursion was by far my favorite. I do recommend putting on sunscreen while you are on the boat and the island. Trust me, it's a must!!!!!!

ALL DAY SUNSET SAIL to LANAI
By ,
Liked: - Staff - Snacks - Length of trip - Boat ride - Sunset Disliked: - Dinner - Unnecessary van ride into downtown Lanai - Bathroom on boat - Bathroom/changing area at Lanai (this isn't the fault of Trilogy), wear your bathing suit under your clothes and pass on using this bathroom.

Best experience in Hawaii - hands down
By ,
We went to Maui in 1999 for our honeymoon. We did a lot of excursions while we were there. We also stayed on Kuaui and Oahu. We took a helicopter tour on Kuaui and that was incredible. The island is very scenic. My personal opinion of Oahu is that I could have had the same experience travelling 5 hours to Chicago and spending the day on Lake Michigan. Maui was a nice stay. We went on the Trilogy and did snorkeling and scuba. It was fabulous. The day was perfect and the sea life was incredible. The crew on the Trilogy was top notch. They were fun and helpful and personable. Made you feel like you were out for a day on a boat with all friends and family. At the end of the day, they put the sails up and sailed us back to the dock. Those people have a great job!! It's now 2007, and the honeymoon in Hawaii is now long over, in fact, so is the marriage!!! But I loved the Trilogy day in Maui. When people tell me they are going to Hawaii the first thing I say is, "make sure you do the Trilogy snorkelling. It's so worth it." My new husband I are are wanting to go to Maui soon. I can't wait to take him on a Trilogy day.
