Clothing from India, silk scarves, hand-painted sarongs and more can be found in the front section of the store. Look on the shelves and you'll find a boggling array of accessories and ornaments, including wallets, journals, statues, oils and more. The merchandise is imported from India, Bali, Tibet and other exotic locations. The interior of the store is lovely, with wood floors and slatted ceilings. The back door leads to a shaded patio area surrounded by trees and adorned with Buddhist sculptures.
This is a very unscrupulous store. Buying cheap goods that exploit 3rd World workers. Also the owners are very snotty and arrogant and highly dishonest. The staff is very stuck up too. Do not shop here unless you support 3rd world EXPLOITATION.
I couldn't believe the shame I felt when I dragged my dad from Kihei back to Paia so I could purchase a silk shawl I saw the day before. When we got there, the sales person was fighting with a customer and when I approached the cash to pay, the sales woman seems so completely out of it that it took her almost 10 minutes to ring me up. And all the while trying to sell another customer a shirt.
Completely unimpressed. Weird, unattentive staff is such a turn off.
We also bought a wrap from this place, the owner said there was an instructional video online... this is all I can find for her shop, no video. The owner was snobby and condescending when we needed to exchange one of the wraps because of a defect. Loved the town though!
I purchased two mesh wraps and was quoted a price of 126.00 plus tax. My husband signed the charge receipt not knowing the price and actually paid 141.67. I later checked the receipt and found the overcharge. I returned to the store and was supposed to receive a credit of 10.00 plus the return of the tax. When I returned home to the mainland and checked my bank statement, I found that instead of a credit I was charged an additional 58.00 making my purchase now 199.00. Now it is up to the credit card company to sift through this mess.
Love my mesh wrap and get all kinds of compliments on it. I can't wait for them to be online so I can view all the colors. The owner, Satya was gracious and friendly and showed us all the ways to wear the wrap. Loved the other selections in the store also.
I found the manager and the owner extremely snotty and inattentive. They do not have their return policy sign in a location where people can see it. It is on the top of the counter where it is blocked and hard to see. If you buy something from these people make sure you really want it because they will not let you return it. Furthermore, I found out that they have a reputation for overcharging their customers as well as buying their merchandise from developing countries in order to make a large profit. This is explotation and they should be ashamed. If they are going to buy from developing countries they should be involved in a fair trade program...
Wow! What an incredable shop. My favorite shop on Maui. Really the most beautiful clothes selection I have ever seen. These guys shop themselves in India, Bali, Thailand and Nepal and bring back the finest stuff imaginable. Exotic jewelry, statues, handicrafts and sacred arts. Not to be missed. I wish we had a shop like this where I am from in Santa Monica
