Maui Brewing Company Fish & Game Rotisserie
Hearty, meaty entrees are grilled over kiawe wood at this West Maui gem. Signature menu items include Rack of Lamb and Black Tea Duckling. The menu also features a plentitude of fresh fish and shellfish. The onsite brewery yields eight original beers, the perfect accompaniment to a juicy T-bone steak or rack of lamb. With a wine list that has earned the "Wine Spectator Award of Excellence," this is truly a great place for any occasion.
Lets just say Hawaii is expensive, but at least when you're spending the cash, you should get what you pay for. Maui Brewing Co. gives you all that and more. With some of the best beers around, great food and happy servers, we were ecstatic we found this place. We'll be back.
On our first night on Maui my family ate at the Maui Brewing Company. 2 members of the party ordered the appetizer version of their Fillet Mignon and Half Rack of Ribs. Both were highly impressed until the bill arrived and they learned they had received the full meal version at 3 times the price. When they spoke to the waiter he walked away. The manager chose to argue that it was the diner's responsibility and our own fault because we arrived without a reservation. Service was very poor. We asked for water and coffee refills 4 times without getting a response. The gratuity was included in the bill so we could not register our dismay by limiting the tip. You can do better at any number of other places. We should have waited the 30 minutes for a table at The Outback next door.
Finding a restaurant that caters to children is awesome. the wait staff was fantastic. Food was exceptional -- the best calamari I've had. Great menu, I'm not much of a beer drinker but my husband said it was awesome and wishes we could buy it on the mainland. We are definitely looking forward to our next trip to Maui and will be stopping @ MBC.
visited October 2005: almost every waitstaff was superb and funny, attentive, but not overbearing. We recommend Gil. The caesar salad was great...all fish was awesome...and the Kiawe Grill Smoked Prime Rib with Au Gratin potatoes was to die for! I had the prime rib 4 times, because I knew I would never find it again in Michigan. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the aroma of the smoker filled the place and immediately coaxed our mouths to water when we opened the door. This restaurant was the best value in all of Maui. It was easy to find, and has the most affordable gift shop next door. It was our first visit to Maui, and we wanted good food, not artistic cuisine. We wanted local food. While our resort was serving $12 burgers, we skipped lunch and headed to Maui Brewing Co. for prime rib at a better value. The au gratin potatoes were tangy, creamy, rich, and smoky. Everything a cheese lover could dream of to compliment the prime rib. The steamed veggies were good too, but nothing could have outshined the prime rib and au gratin potatoes. My husband loved the fish. He said it was perfectly seasoned and prepared.
We were lucky enough to find Maui Brew Co./Fish & Game on a recent trip to Maui. Their beers were exceptional -- we especially enjoyed their Belgian Abbey Ale -- apparently one of the winners at this year's Great American Beer Festival. Their seafood preparations were wonderful and staff very attentive. Prices were very good especially when compared to the "corporate" dining establishments, Outback Steakhouse and Roy's (which happen to be owned by the same corporation) and are in the same center as Maui Brew Co. Who wants to eat at the same places we have in our neighborhood? We went back several times during our week's stay! The aloha spirit is alive and well at Maui Brew Co.!
The beers are world class, not stuck on one style, they've got great brews across the board.
Prices did go up a bit but still the most affordable restaurant on the West Side.
New owners giving great personal attention and are there every night. I even got to tour the brewery!
I own rentels on Maui and have been going to fish and game for years. however I had the worse experience that I could ever have at this rest. Since they changed owner, Per Garrett to quailty of food and service is awful. I would never go there again.
