I Got Ripped Off By Activity Warehouse
I lost my money with Activity Warehouse and GOT NOTHING. I tried to book a tour with them. They only had one day available, so I changed my plans so I could take the tour on the day they had open. As I was leaving my hotel, they called me to try to talk me out of taking it that day too, because they hadn't booked anyone else to take the tour. They actually told me to meet them "on a patch of grass" along the road. No one was there to meet me. I spent the next 1/2 hour driving up and down the road, stopping at every tour center that was reselling Activity Warehouse tours, and not one of them could tell me where they were actually located. Finally a nice lady in a surf shop let me use her phone to call them. They blamed me for not seeing them on the patch of grass, and told me now it's too late to take the tour. I went back to the place where I purchased the tour. The nice lady who promised me a refund "if there was a problem" was gone and replaced by a little snot who told me there are no refunds. I made him call his boss, as well as the actual operator of the tour, who confirmed that they did not bill Activity Warehouse for my tour. Finally, after requesting a police officer so I could file a report, they promised they would mail me a refund, but that "it might take 6 weeks". Well, 6 weeks have come and gone, and so has another month after that, and no refund has been sent. I've found the best way to enjoy Hawaii is to take your time and to make an effort to show some respect to the locals. If you do that, you'll see the real Aloha - they'll be glad to tell where the beautiful places are.
