This rough-and-tumble experience is like a cross between a motorcycle ride and a back-road trek. Tours take place on a working cattle ranch that covers 3,000 acres. Participants travel through forests, fields, up inclines and down riverbeds. Along the way there are plenty of sights to see; the Menehune Fish Pond and the Haupu Mountains are two of the main ones. This is the only way to gain access to Kipu Ranch. Participants ride sturdy Honda 300cc ATVs. Plenty of rules apply; call in advance for more information or to make reservations.

Great fun on Kauai
By Doogie, 06/28/09
The tour was the most fun I had on my trip to Kauai. My husband and I drove the Rhino. My husband got to drive while I took pictures and enjoyed the scenery. The guides were great and funny. Good history and botany lesson. I recommend the tour to anyone visiting Kauai. Recommend swimming in the river and waterfalls Be prepared to get muddy and bring bug spray!

Beauty and peace in the morning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/08
We went on their 7am atv tour, in a very small group of 4 people and it was amazing. The open fields, the mountains, and the river are beautiful and peaceful in the morning. The small group meant we got more ride time and since we were all experienced riders we got to rid pretty fast through the dirt roads. So much fun! I reccomend it for those with experience on ATVs b/c the terrain on the ranch is pretty challenging. Worth the price and the staff is great! We saw where Jurassic Park and Raiders of the lost Ark was filmed on the ranch.

We had a great time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/06
It was the most fun that I had in Kauai. We have taken the ride for the past two years and are going again on our next trip. The guides are very helpful and they have the "mule" for those who don't want to drive themselves. The secenry is outstanding. I highly recomend it to all.

So Much Fun!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/06
This tour was awesome! The tour guides were really funny and entertaining. They taught us how to manuvered through lots of obstacles I would have been way too scared to try on my own. The next time I'm in Lihue I'll definently go again.

A definite return!!!!
By A, 11/21/05
We decided on the 3-hr. tour; since I am an Air Force reservist, I was able to purchase discounted tickets through Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF)which is a Navy base. Our guides, Juliet & Scott were excellent, informative, cordial, and very safety conscious. My husband, myself, daughter (24), son (20) and mother(67) enjoyed it so much that we look forward to doing it again next year! The scenery & views are breathtaking even though it rained & was muddy (added to the adventure)and slick, it was exhilirating! It was also interesting to find out where scenes from Jurassic Park & Indiana Jones movies were filmed. We got to swing over the river! Although, there are herds of cattle, we came across wild pigs, peacocks, and pea hens. We highly recommend it to others! Awesome, memorable fun that should be experienced at least once!
