Grove Farm Homestead Museum, Lihue

Lovely, well preserved farm museum. Tour groups are kept very small (about 5-6 people) to keep the tour intimate and very detailed. The guides are very knowledgable and enthusiastic. A great way to quickly learn about the history and influence of the sugar industry and the Wilcox family on Kauai. Definitely worth the time (expect to spend about 3 hrs) and admission fee ($10 each). The tour group size is extremely limited as specified by previous owner Mabel Wilcox when setting out the terms under which the farm museum was to operate. Accordingly, reservations in advance of one's anticipated visit, are a necessity.

This is one of the first activities we wanted to repeat on our return visit to Kauai. It is a step into a past era. Lovely.
