Avenyn, Gothenburg

Avenyn is THE mainstreet of Gothenborg. You cannot miss it as the Konstmuseum with the godness Poseidon in front is at the end of Avenyn as the Arc de triumph of the Champ's Elysee. You can find a lagre number of different shops (expensive boutiques as well as H&M, which has quite reasonable prices) and a variety of bars, clubs, cafes and cinemas. One good thing about Sweden (as well as Denmark and so on) is that movies just have Swedish subtitles and keep the original English sound (unless they are for children under 12yrs). So you can even go to the cinema on your holiday in Sweden, while movies in France or Germany normally are translated. So you can visit one of the cinemas in Gothenborg as well! In case you just have a few days in Gothenborg you shouldn't spend your time in a cinema, of course, but enjoy walking down Avenyn which is especially nicely decorated at Christmas time.
