I've been at friaco's twice and I've been dissapointed both times. The first time I went there was a while ago and I couldn't remember why I didn't care for the place. We went there for dinner (my sister chose the place), I remember the reasons why the first time I didn't like it and the 2nd time was not any better. The menu is very small and not much to chose from, if I wanted tacos or burritos I would rather go to Los Burritos Tapatios, they're cheapper, better and everywhere. They only have a few plates to chose from, also the food I got was not worth the price. The steak was very dry it almost felt like I was eating beef jerky, and the shrimp was kind of salty. The service was good, and the waitress did a good job even dough our table had 15 people.
I will not go there again unless I'm forced to by my sister again. There's much better mexican places in Aurora to chose from.
We had an exceptional experience at the Friaco's in Aurora. We had an engagement party for 30 booked. I had never been there before, but, my oldest daughter recomended it. The price was totally reasonable, service was awesome, and the food was great! The place was clean and the owner made sure we were all comfortable and had everything we needed. I would recomend this place to all my friends/family!
DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE! For one, their management is crap. I walked into the front doors to see the manager yelling at a waitress in front of customers until she began to cry. Once I got to the host's desk, I saw one of the male waiters rubbing the hostess' shoulder. She looked pretty uncomfortable but attended us very well. As my wife and I looked around, the restaurant seemed pretty empty, but we sat down regardless, because we were starving. Second of all, the service is terrible. We waited about 10 minutes and no one came up to us to bring chips & salsa or even take our beverages. I looked around and saw two of the workers sitting down in a booth talking and playing on their cell phones. They stopped once they saw me and got up. But did either of them come and attend my wife and I? NO. The hostess finally came up to us when she saw that we had nothing on our table and brought us our chips and apologized for the service. She ended up taking our drinks as well until a waitress finally came back with them. Once she brought our food, she did not refill our beverages, or take any of our plates away. Every time I looked for her she was at the bar talking to the bartender. Not to mention the food tastes like plastic there. Literally. I found a piece of plastic wrap in it! My wife order fajitas and got three small strips of chicken and and a heap of onions. I asked for no guacamole with my food, and guess what I found on my plate? Guacamole. The waitress did not apologize for anything. Even during our meal, we could hear the cooks screaming and goofing around from the kitchen (which was a good 20 feet away from us). Maybe that explains why our food was crap, but I thought it was the waitress' job as well to make sure we are well attended and that our order is correct before it is served to us. This has been the second time we have gone and have not returned since. I recall the first time we went I saw, from my guess, the owner, taking shots with customers. Drinking on the job, are we? Friaco's Mexican Restaurant is a joke. I have friends that eat there and talk about how good their food is. My suggestion? Go to Chili's or something similar to it. It's worth your time and money.
Did not like, did not like, did not like! I found a piece of plastic in my food.
They gave me a new meal and didnt have pay for it. But what I dislike the most was that the manager on duty did NOT come over to apologize. We waited to see if he would but he never did. I even saw the waitress point out our table to him. I guess he didn't think we were worthy of an apology from him and having the waitress apologize was good enough, NOT! So no, I will not go back and no I will not recommend this place to anyone. FYI- It was plenty of seating room maybe thats due to there terrible customer service(MANAGER)!!
Was a huge fan for many years. As the family expanded we ate there almost once a week @ the one on Essington in Joliet. Last few times convinced us to look elsewhere. We were seated near a noisy fountain and when we asked to move the 5 of us were offered a booth despite the fact there were larger tables in another section which was apparently not being used and not being reserved. I guess they were keeping the patrons in the center section. Order was wrong and the meat was really salty. The kids got Dino chicken nuggets vs chicken strips. The point of eating out is for it to be special vs. chicken I can buy in bulk at Sam's Club and cook myself. Jesus is still awesome though.
