Cantabria's most important collection of paintings are spread over three floors of this fine neoclassical building. You'll find 16th to 18th century Flemish and Italian works, 16th to 20th century Spanish works and sculptures dating from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as, collections of coins, medals and stamps. The museum was established in 1908 and the Leonardo Rucabado's building was classified as a heritage site in 1962. There are regular exhibitions throughout the year and admission is free. The visiting hours vary seasonally, for specific timings check the website or call ahead.
