Description
Ex-US President Bill Clinton said that he saw the prettiest sunset in his life from up here. He didn't lie. The views over the Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens with the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background are unforgettable. You get access to the rest of the atmospheric old Moorish quarter of the Albayzín from this point as well. The shrine dedicated to Granada's patron saint, San Cecilio, is just 100m away, along Callejón de San Cecilio.
Gorgeous views and a great place to start an exploration of the Albaicin. Be aware of the teams of pickpocketers. I felt significantly safer being there with my husband, but you'll probably be fine alone if you keep track of where your stuff is.
Public place so it is free - unbeatable value ! People of Granada attend the place and the adjacent church. The ambiance is very sympathic because of the Gypsies who come here to play music and sing traditionnal music and sometimes even dance. Local artists also come here to offer their small art and craftwork.
On the nearby place, you can have a meal at one of the restaurants or just a cool drink and coffee at the bar. Reasonable prices.
And an excellent view point on the Alhambra and the surronding Sierra Nevada mountains.
