For Stellenbosch's premier classical music events, look no further than the Konservatorium or the Conservatoire of the Department of Music at the University of Stellenbosch. Established in 1905 with the intention of being a private musical institution, the Konservatorium was bought by the University of Stellenbosch in 1934 and incorporated into its educational haven. The building has excellent acoustics and state-of-the-art facilities that make it a splendid venue for many concerts, recitals and other musical events. In the building, the two halls, The Endler Hall and the Fismer hall are very well equipped to guarantee the smooth operation of any event and can together accommodate about 756 people.
